It is really important for the US to crackdown on illegal immigration because it affects the job opportunities for the locals. This is the point.

Bro, I am not interested in "America is done for" speculation, and neither he will deport Pakistani people. This is baseless rhetoric.

He will deport illegal immigrants irrespective of where they came from though, and this is a valid stance on his part. Pakistan should do the same; we have our share of large number of aliens whom we need to send back.

Trump has already clarified that he welcomes productive immigrants to the US, but though legal channels only.

I think you are misunderstanding the point Knight is trying to make. Trump won't deport existing Pakistanis in the US, but he'll put Pakistan on the list of terror prone countries. This will mean that new visa applications from Pakistan will be rejected outright. I know we are speculating at this point, but there is undoubtedly a very good chance that Pakistan will be added to this particular list. That won't be good for bilateral relations I can assure you. Nothing unexpected though. This was bound to happen with Trump as US president.

Great post! Couldn't wholeheartedly agree more. Do you know who despise illegal immigration more than Americans? Legal immigrants. The hoops legal immigrants have to jump through to legally enter, and then stay, in US is torturous. Try bringing a non-immediate family over like a brother or sister -- a ten-year waiting list. Now the Democrats want to give line-cutters and queue-jumpers a fast path to legalization? No way.

This is not to say that all illegal immigrants will be deported. US-born children of illegal immigrants will be given amnesty, but don't expect the whole lot to get it. This is just politically untenable in the US.

He is not deporting LEGAL immigrants like his wife and maybe 90% of Pakistanis legally in the US. He will TRY to deport the illegals, and yes future migration from Pakistan will be curtailed because he has said that terrorists do come from Pakistan.

There is no bilateral relationship between US and Pakistan atleast for the last 16 years. It's always been Pakistan growing under US shadow.

Trump should do what Obama failed to do!!!
