Trump to Israel: Annexation Conditioned on Acceptance of Palestinian State

YERUSHALAYIM - The Trump administration has told Israel that it will only approve annexations in Yehuda and Shomron if they are accompanied by a recognition of the right of Palestinians to have their own state and full adoption of the terms of the U.S. peace plan, according to Channel 13 quoting senior American officials.

The message was reportedly transmitted to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu‏‏ and other senior Israeli officials through multiple channels, including Ambassador to Israel David Friedman.

American officials stressed to their Israeli counterparts that the peace plan is a package deal, and they could not accept only the parts of the peace plan they like while ignoring the rest.

Since the plan was unveiled, voices on the Israeli right have urged immediate acceptance and implementation of sovereignty over Yehuda and Shomron while rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state.
