El Salvador Deemed Too Dangerous For Peace Corps, But Not For Deportees

The Obama administration considers El Salvador too dangerous for Peace Corps volunteers, but will continue to send mothers and children with orders for deportation to the country.

<JK> Boys and girls - can you point out the 'Sh*tholes' on this map?</JK>

And look at where the 'Election Non-Meddlers' are....

I disagree. There are many people all over the world especially from poor developing countries who dream of going to the U. S for a better life.
They won't change their minds just because of a silly comment from trump.
Moreover, such comments Should make leaders of such countries to strive to improve their country and peoples living standards as well, so that their people can be respected wherever they travel abroad. Since to be honest, nobody respects poverty.

I think the basis of your comments is shallow - because disrespectful comments from foul-mouthed politicians don't 'shock' people into improving their impoverished corners of the world. And its one-dimensional to think that people 'willingly' choose to live in impoverished, chaotic situations.

To institute meaningful change - one must champion change constructively. By creating win-win situations, like fair trade and constructive import policies like GSP preferences....

Would you rather be living on minimum wage in the UK/Sweden/Germany/Norway or in the USA?
Denmark hands down.
And btw both usa and european people die to work in gcc and move there for taxfree living.

All white people should go back to their shitholes. America belongs to the natives
Agree but lets accept its whites who made europe and america so good that everyone wants to get a slice of their prosperity. Its also ironic how these western countires keep installing puppet regimes in third world countries to control them whilst their own lands prosper. Its even more ironic how we paksitanis also willingly vote for those crappy ppp , pmln cause our moral fabrics are more tattered than our politicians'.

What a turd. What makes him think people from developed countries actually want to move to America? it's a backward step, high crime, rising right wing, poor healthcare.

More people want to come to America than to any other country. Some do it illegally. That is why Trump want to build the wall.

I believe the waiting list a year ago hit 22Million. It's insane how many people want to move here.

This was a poll from a few years ago

http://news.gallup.com/poll/161435/100-million-worldwide-dream-life.aspx

More Than 100 Million Worldwide Dream of a Life in the U.S.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- About 13% of the world's adults -- or about 630 million people -- say they would like to leave their country and move somewhere else permanently. For roughly 138 million people, that somewhere else would be the U.S. -- the No. 1 desired destination for potential migrants. The U.K., Canada, and France also rank among the top choices for potential migrants.

These findings are based on a rolling average of Gallup interviews with 501,366 adults in 154 countries between 2010 and 2012. The 154 countries represent more than 98% of the world's adult population; 3% of that population would like to relocate to the U.S. permanently.

Approximately 19 Million in China Want to Move to the U.S. Permanently

Potential migrants who would like to move to the U.S. are logically the most likely to come from some of the most populous countries in the world. Roughly 10 million or more adults would like to move to the U.S. permanently from China, Nigeria, and India.

However, other populous countries such as Iran and Pakistan do not have large groups of people who say that they would like to move to the U.S. permanently. Instead, Pakistanis most desire to relocate to Saudi Arabia and the U.K. and Iranians would prefer to move to Jordan or Lebanon. This is not surprising, as Iranians and Pakistanis have some of the lowest U.S. leadership approval ratings in the world.

The percentage of people in each country who would like to move to the U.S. permanently is perhaps more interesting. A staggering 37% of Liberians say that they would like to relocate to the U.S. permanently. One in four adults or more in Sierra Leone, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti would also like to move to the U.S. permanently. Three countries with the highest percentages of people who would like to relocate to the U.S. permanently are in Africa, seven are in Central America and the Caribbean, with the remaining country, Cambodia, in Asia.

Norway definitely NOT. Since Norway is the 2nd wealthiest country in the entire world itself. So that's not fair to pick the most wealthy European country(together with Luxembourg) and compare to it to the U. S.
As for our country, Germany, and Sweden. I'm not entirely sure which one I'll pick. However from my experience even here in U. K, I know of a few friends, colleagues and even some family members who have moved to the U. S, since they said there are much more opportunities there there than in Britain itself(which is normal given the size and economic activity of the U. S) . Even my younger sister moved there and she has been working and living there for over 8years now. She herself agree there are much more opportunities in the U.S than Britain, even though she was born and grew up here and had a well paid job here(she has always been very ambitious though) .
So I'm not even sure about Britain, that's even more surprising considering that Britain has one of the lowest unemployment rate in Europe and one of the most wealthiest country in Europe and with one of the most dynamic European labour market, reason many people in E.U move here in search of jobs.
So not sure Germany and Sweden are that much different from us in this aspect. Sweden MAYBE.
I have been to both countries but not long enough, just for tourism. So can't say for sure. However. I'll say apart from some very few Scandinavian and tiny western European countries like Norway ,Denmark, Luxembourg, there's not that many European countries who are wealthier than the U. S.
Well, BRITAIN, France and Germany even lag behind the U. S in terms of GDP per capital, even though the U. S has more people than all three of us combined. So go figure.
So you can't say the U. S is a backward step per se. So we have to learn to put things into perspective and avoid being clouded by our bias or personal emotions.

Even people who come from countries that are 'anti-America' still want to move there. Lol.

Most of the people complaining about America would move here in a heartbeat.

But since they won’t be able to come, the grape is always sour.

Insulting Melania -- even though she admitted yrs ago of what she really is in more polite language -- does not take away from the harsh reality of what Trump said.

I am no Trump defender on this forum. Many people knows that from my past criticisms of the man. But neither am I ignorant of the status of other countries when compared against the US and notionally 'Western' countries. I am a veteran. I have been overseas.

Trump is not a sophisticated man by any criteria of what make a person reasonably refined at least in speech. He is a compulsive liar, a sociopath, an egotist, and at the core of his character -- a thug. It is the last item -- being thuggish -- is what compelled Trump to speak bluntly on many subjects that usually requires the minimum of sophistication of speech in polite company. Like it or not, the blunt language is truth, that there are countries that do not need profanity to describe them just as effectively as when profanity is used.

i do agree that those countries are shitholes but he was talking about migrants. immigrants with an educated background regardless of where they come perform better. that's a fact. africans now make up the most educated immigrant group in america who contirbute to the country in so many ways and have good standards of living. it's wrong for him to say that immigrants from norway are better just because they are from norway. it's statistically wrong.

In this case, Supa Powa 2012, aka India, need to be included in the list by Trump. That country is a total bleep hole, though their best and brightest all want to come to America. To be honest, they would go anywhere to get out of that defecating sh*tty slum.

One of their members proudly proclaimed that India get most of their remittances from the Gulf countries so H1B would not affect their remittances and their Supa Powa growth much. What a bunch of morons.

I think people are missing the point

Many countries in the world are indeed deprived, poor and parts can be described as shit holes, we all know this, its just reality

The point is that just because someone is less well off then you doesn't mean you should insult or degrade their poverty
It makes you a obnoxious cunt! If you do

The problem is what I have alluded to in other posts that Trump is such a kak handed loud mouthed bufoon that he is decimating American prestige and influence that has been built up over the last 70 years

As each day goes by the orange moron makes one joke after the other losing the U.S more respect than any of us could have imagined

Here is the harsh reality...If you have a choice of selective allowance, you would take that choice.

Between Canada and Mexico, Americans would select Canadians. Now let us move to continental Europe. Given what many countries are going thru with their liberal immigration policies, you better believe it that now the citizens are thinking they would rather have people of their own neighborhood -- next door countries -- than from North Africa.

That is the core of what Trump so crudely put it, that if we have the right to select, then we should be selective. Not only that, if we are not selective to countries of origin, then we should be selective about the quality of those allowed to enter. What are the PERCEIVED odds of a Norwegian or a Briton becoming assimilated vs someone from Somalia or Afghanistan ? You can cite statistics all you want, but even you would have the same perception if your country is at stake.
