Good news. China needs more live fire exercises like these to keep the troops sharp. This will probably shut up all the military fans in China who claims that "China doesn't do live fire trainings and let the ammos go to waste".

I wonder if the J-10 was used purely for ground attack. At the very least precision weapons should be used, right?

"Peace Mission 2010" to stage first live-fire drill (4) - People's Daily Online

Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member forces staged the first joint training in the Matybulak range of Kazakhstan on Sept. 14, 2010. The joint military drill held was dubbed "Peace Mission 2010."

As part of the "Peace Mission 2010" war games, soldiers and military officers from Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan practiced a variety of maneuvers, including firepower readiness and breakthrough; encircling and suppressing enemies in residential areas; and purging the enemy at their bases in a night operation.

The joint training was aimed at giving participating troops a better understanding of the land, action sequences and methods of coordinated combat.
