Troop Training in Afghanitstan - abysmal failure I guess

.
So's your link.

Are you a professional trainer of soldiers such that you've competency to render sound opinions here about training the ANA?

Despite the shooting of three American soldiers the other day by an ANA soldier, I'm still prepared to write that the vast majority of professional commentary that I've read about the ANA has been very positive. This has been contrasted by great reported difficulties with the ANP.

As we've been so honest in our public assessments of the ANP, so too I must imagine for the ANA. This is a critical component of ISAF's ability to stabilize Afghanistan and I'm hopeful for the necessary improvements.

I hope that you are too and also recognize the great practical difficulities this task entails.

Thanks.

Man the Afghan soldiers are a bunch of pot-smokers in the video. They're useless. I dunno if that's how it is across the Afghan army, but these guys can't dress properly or wear a helmet the right way.

"...you got to get that sense of nationalism...so you could stand up to Pakistan"

Nice principles they're rearing the ANA with.

Pakistan's army in 1947 was much more disciplined and better trained than the Afghan army today, and at that time in 1947 Pakistan had no outside help.

And U.S. media has the nerve to compare Pakistan to Afghanistan. The two countries are nothing alike.

Didn't the Brits create and found your national army? I think they did!

The Brits deserted us on 1947 when the founder of our nation didn't agree to grant Mountbattein the position of Governor General. Mountbattein wanted to be Governor General of both India and Pakistan after independence but we were not dumb enough to grant him that position knowing he was very pro-india.

Its because of the founder of our nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Pakistan army is what it is today.

You see ever since the independence of Pakistan, we had many ill-wishers, who thought for sure that Pakistan wouldn't last a few days, but Pakistan is still standing after more than 61 years and will continue to stand tall and proud.
