New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed former Union minister Salman Khurshid to assist it as an amicus curiae in hearing of a batch of pleas challenging constitutional validity of triple talaq, nikah halala and polygamy among Muslims.

A bench comprising Chief Justice J.S. Khehar and justices D.Y. Chandrachud and S.K. Kaul also permitted Khurshid, who is a senior advocate, to file his written submissions in the case.

“We will take it on record. It’s not an issue,” the bench said when the Congress leader said that the time for filing written submission in the matter has already expired and he intended to file certain pleadings in the case.

A five-judge constitution bench would commence hearing from 11 May to decide a batch of petitions challenging triple talaq, nikah halala and polygamy among Muslims.

.
He will most probably advise that give AIMPLB two years they will bring reforms internally yadla yadla The Supreme court needs to out-rightly ban practices such as triple talaq, nikah halala and polygamy on May 19 and put behind bars those who practice, preach or support it

Unless he told you this over the phone or you had a candle light dinner with senior Salman, your insinuation has unpleasant taste & is unpalatable thereby.

Assumptions are the mother of all the mess-ups.

 Don't you understand the meaning of 'most probably'? This fellow is a Muslim and was law minister what did he do for Muslim women then zilch. So, what do you expect now? What are your thoughts on the need of Supreme Court out-rightly banning practices such as triple talaq, nikah halala and polygamy Ashok?:lol:

Most probably phrase also tantamount to speculation/assumption.
Unless you are privy to any classified or confidential matter involving this situation.
my views:
Every Indian must nod (if not salute) on SC decisions/verdicts whatever that be, other than that it will be uncivilized.

So will I.
Law of the land.

Here 'most probably' means 'most likely' going by the track-record of the fellow. Agree with you on the second part every Indian should accept and respect SC decisions/verdicts whatever that be. Hoping that SC gives respite to Muslim women from regressive laws disguised in the garb of religion. Things like triple talaq, nikah halala and polygamy are made by men to dominate women and for their own comfort.

As they say in the US:
It ain't over till the fat lady sings..

Till then, lets not be emotionally charged like the citizens of 3rd world countries.

True personally I am not much concerned as these type of laws don't have any future in 21st century and will have go with time, they are like caste system in Hinduism or discrimination against blacks in US. The only question is 'when will they go' and not 'will they go' but the sooner it happens the better for Muslim women.

He is just an advisor to the court. The court will give the verdict based on the arguments of the govt and the AIMPLB.

Though I agree with you that had it been the UPA govt the govt probably would have advised for the continuation of triple talaq

Heard you.
But. One must work with time and not against it.
