That's what they get from Selecting China unlike a certain country who selected Japan :omghaha:

. . . . .
The Chinese always have positive contributions to all Malay nations. Hope Malays will remember. Dont everyday stir and stir (luckily Indonesians no longer stir so much sht these days).

Indonesia is not a Malay nation though. Javanese or Balinese Indonesians will be as mad as Tionghoa Indonesians if Indonesia is called a Malay nation.

Yes, they called themselves Indon

Yes, they called themselves Indon

"Indo" or "Indos" is the more common way to call ourselves if "Indonesian" is too long. Indon is somewhat derogatory and is usually used by Malaysians as insult.

The Indon word is nothing degatory. It is simple due to the fact that Malaysian wants to call Indonesians with their own way, which indonesians suddenly start to hate for no special reason.

Then INDONESIAN tell everyone this is degatory.

Malaysian mean no harm when they refer Indonesian people as "Indon". "Indon" is a unique noun Malaysian use just for "Indonesian people", no other meaning. I guess DOS DOS is not a common phonetic in Malays and Malays hate to pronounce Indos.

This got nothing to do with Chinese but as usual some Indos start to use this pretext to insult others.

See how Indonesian footballer Andik Vermansyah says the ‘derogatory word’ in its original context to refer to his beloved NKRI in the video below (Skip to 2:38):

Indonesian use Indon among themselves also as Indos is not natural phonetics in Bahasa Indonesia as in Bahasa Malaysia.

FYI, "Indon" is an ethnic slur referring to Indonesians (especially Javanese) in Malaysia. Same with Jap to Japanese or Brit to British in America.

But most of Indonesians hate when they called Indon.

Etymology of "Indon". Indonesia use this word among themselves also especially long time ago. Since Malays are always using it, Indonesian peasants now sort of ban it and deem it as slur. Nevertheless many nations still use it in formal settings and Indonesian government never complaint.

So it shows that GoI dont really take it as insults.

That writing is made by Malaysian. Dont be naive to believe such Malaysian opinion. Nope, no government ever used it. Malaysian speaks in internet dont use that indon words again. Only very small minority of them still use it.
