Tracing Humans

I find the peaty islays are best enjoyed in the winter next to a warm fireplace.

:enjoy:

Was enjoying it last week in "summer" in Glasgow. Rain and low teens temperature. Served by a man wearing a skirt (my son's description ....).

I know of this issue. Its too bad because Nyaya (logic) and Carvaka (agnostic) schools of thought were once quite popular in earlier times.

Hopefully the attitude overall in the country will improve with time.

I myself like to explore religious ethics that underly the stories...because I can apply scientific and logical rigour to that and religious people (at least the ones I know personally) enjoy that immensely since they are often only caught up in the superstition/cultural practice of it.

But I can only have serious deep conversations with people that follow basic Aristotlean philosophy.

unfortunately I grew up in a small town, so........but good thing is,we'll be moving out soon. :)

Where do you live by the way, friend??

I think it is a misquote!
Like there are things which are more in a symbolic tone and not as words meaning. Plus as i said, perhaps a scholar can guide you better about that if you are really interested in it.

I only ask because I have read the Christian bible quite deeply as a kid (a Jehovahs witness gave us a very nice illustrated one).

But I understand what you are saying here, sometimes there is esoteric rather than direct meaning. It happens a lot in the Vedas as well.

Yup you got the point.
You know what, i will go on and say thing one thing risking absolutely destroying this thread as it may invite all sorts of flaming and religion troll posts. Still, i guess you may be able to understand this. :)

Thing is, you go to a doctor to discuss your medical issues right? and a car mechanic for you car troubles? what will happen if you ask a car mechanic about your blood pressure issues? Unfortunately we people do this for all forms of science and other question except religion. Just like any other source of information and knowledge where you just consult the experts, it is unfair to judge religion based on debates and discussion with people who are not the experts but merely the followers. All these questions pointed out here must have answers to them but just as i cannot tell you what to do if you car suddenly breaks down i am not able to answer in detail these questions either. Now it depends on oneself that if he actually is interested in acquiring the information he can put in that extra effort and get it from an authentic source.

Yes its why you Muslims have the hadiths and tafsir....and Hindus have upanishads. They seek to explain the collection of divine revealed verses of Al-Quran and Vedas respectively. I am only starting on my mission to more deeply understand the world's religions and their structures and philosophies...it will be a life long process for sure...hopefully meeting the right "experts" along the way will shed much light on topics I am interested in within this realm.

Sir it is old and obselete explanation and justification. For example if you take this gene disorder thingy to a religious scholar, first he will ask what is gene and what is order. Then he will say 'Beta leave science, what God has said is true. Don't ask too much you'll be kafir'. Or he will simply say science needs more research. So he will drag you to his level and beat with experience.

This car mechanic example must be left now. As if you kept science and religion synched.

Although to avoid literary anarchy its better keep silence, i must say.

Thats why you choose the appropriate questions/topics. I dont approach a scientist to seek explanation on something to do with religion now do I :D

With learned people in religion, I like to talk about philosophy, nature of existence and such things like that...where Science simply has no answer or the answer is at infancy. I like to have creative thought experiments, thats what philosophy is for me.

But you provided a humorous anecdote nonetheless. :D

Trace humans and found sensible animal in the world of today. there is the age of materialist people who are human like animal who is proud of his education, but he alliterate, not educated.

Then 'learned' is a relative term. One may be learned but might not be right. It is upto you to decide with wisdom after listening to both of them.

Thats why no need to refer the topic to religious scholars when you know they have nothing more to say.

Or you don't want them to be proved wrong. @Arsalan sir

I am sorry but i am not sure what you are trying to say here.
I mean, i understand that learning is a relative term but what objection you may possibly have to learn more and to have that quest in ones life?
I think this is what @Nilgiri was saying and it is good if he is actually interested in learning about all this. It is not for me to decide how serious he is such an effort and i can just wish him luck. :)

I am not disagreeing with you, it is just that i do no understand what you are saying.
