Of course there isn't any disconnect between PLA and government. It's a disputed territory between 2 countries and the LAC is not properly demarcated. Owing to similar geography on both sides of the border, these incursions are bound to happen every now and then. The only solution is to properly mark the LAC with each other's consent. Hopefully that will be achieved sooner than later.

We will never acquiesce to the current status quo. The best we can hope for is to shelve the dispute for future generations to solve.

Unfortunately diplomacy doesn't work that way. Regardless of China's military might, it could find itself vulnerable with Japan, Philippines (U.S.), India surrounding her, especially since 2/3rd of China's oil passes through Indian Ocean. Similarly regardless of India's might and capabilities, it will find itself vulnerable with China and Pakistan just across the border. The leaders from both the countries are well aware of the geopolitical ramifications in case of a military standoff and are both looking for ways to get in the good books of each other. That's why I am hopeful of a solution to the border dispute sooner than later but I could be wrong.

Well, the "master" was sent away from Ukraine negotiations, and the "master" is currently providing the groundwork for a new pipeline through either Syria or IS which we need, not them. Also, the "master" squeezed Chinese solar industry right on cue.

whenever India sees you come to it, they somehow fantasise that you need India and beg India to do sth. Then India will play 'hard-to-get" by either asking for free money, or asking for more land (in case of border issue with China) or free tech transfer, or all of them in return.

Although every one love to have a China and India to have a good relation but it is difficult to happen...China is a different kind of military power who beleives to bring its ally by force or coercion rathen being an ally to help that nation..China just understand authority and power of others ...Think about their own nation...They are also ruling in the same way...If Modi or any one thinks that by making trade things will improve, then i think we are in fairy land...India has to economically develop or allign with some one to make sure militarily becomes equal with China or else...India will be always treated like underdog who can be decieved always...

Exactly...but again, we never have a political will...See even when we take a strong stand against Pakistan, majority muslim people do not allign with that political party...In that kind of divisive politcal scenario nothing can happen...

Muslims not aligning with BJP has nothing to do with pakistan. In any case how is that relevant ?

As long as a stable govt. is there in the center, anything can happen.

Beacause as a nation, we are not united...Our intrests vary based on political parties....

To be fair a lot of Indians also tell this to the pakistani that the LOC should be made international border.

India's official position is that the area is disputed and we are open for negotiations.

The border issue has been under discussion for decades. The only agreement between China and India is "No fire".
I don't think China really wants to solve that as long as there's no conflict. Those lands is only a symbol. However if the party steps back, they will lose the regime.
