..read somewhere that the reason for some community being rich has nothing to do with IQ, education or culture etc. Only reason is the attitude of that community towards wealth...
Just remember hero of 80 era bollywood film.. rich girl leaving father to live with pauper hero."..nahi chaiye mujhe aapki daulat, mai bhooke pet apne payar ke saath khusi khusi rah loongi..."...typical Mithun Chakrobaty films...rich were potray as villians in films...with this attitude the community could never become rich...Compare this with potrayal of hero now a days..flush with money, affluence, and at ease being rich kid
And now you see below 30 billionairs by dozens, kilos...and soon by tons.....
..oonly problem is..."..list me mera number kab aaye ga..":undecided:

. . . . .
So let me get this straight, the 10 richest Indians have a combined net worth 2x pakistan, a nation of 180 million people?! LOL!!

This is actually sad for India. Something India should be ashame of if indeed is true.

This shows that how our development model has some serious issue...Asymmetrical distribution of wealth always leads to disaster...

I am glad you didnt compare it with Somalia and made it worth 5 times their GDP.

now also tell us about those Indians whose numbers are more than total population of Europe and who dont get even 50% of their daily calorie count

wrong analogy.

one mithun film had the song "jhopadd pati zindabad, oonchi haweli murdabad...".

ignoring the "oonchi haweli", the song was propagating not revolutionary struggle towards achieving comfort but towards the status quo ( remaining poor ).

@jamahir .. aap bhi apni expert tippani deejiye

well, it is sad to see people in the list having become rich off running hospitals... medical treatment should be free and there must be no intention of anyone making profit off treating people's illness... this is obscene.

and then there is "kotak mahindra" in the list... how many people would not have suicided or at least been miserable after finding it difficult to repay the interest-based loans from "kotak mahindra bank"... again, making money of someone's misery.

and ambani... what does mukesh ambani do except make money by selling cell phone connections and petrol to mainly the non-upper-classes... 99.999 percent of these people will never become rich and will spend their lives in extreme or general poverty and when they need money for typical indian needs ( college, wedding, car, house, festival ) will go to a bank for loan who will then lend on interest-basis... for buying such a basis necessity like a house, a person will be enslaved to the bank for ten years or more, and to pay, the person will need to be in job ( wage-slavery ), generally ignoring his ambitions in life and ending up failing to contribute to society.

At least I agree on one thing, education and healthcare should be free. And farmers should have a debt free loan, and crops insurance policy, to safeguard against erratic weather pattern.
