Who was Chandraguta Maurya's ancestor? Historians dont know his origin story.
I have not studied much about Ranjit Singh to comment whether or not he was a tyrant. I only know that he unified the Punjab area thus signficantly reducing conflicts and bloodshed there and he did not convert or kill his subjects.
