Tit-for-tat: Sri Lanka considers nuclear deal with Pakistan

And India has Civilian Nuclear Technology.

But wait, didn't India sign a civilian Nuclear Technology transfer deal with America ?

Failed Logic and Argument , Dumbo.....

can you even read ???

Who said India has civilian nuclear technology !? We are seeking it from US. Now try understanding the meaning of logic, you DODO !!

it's a complicated, tricky and very sensitive issue......though Pakistan is a non-signatory of the NPT meaning that IN PRINCIPLE - we can assist Sri Lanka in this regard.

Me personally, on a commercial basis - I wouldn't be averse to it. Weaponization on the other hand - I don't see it happening. We still have to be responsible on the world stage. It's not even a debate.

Look who is yelling...

half of Pakistan is drowning in Power Crisis and they are out for helping others with civil nuke tech..!! :omghaha:

Blind leading another blind...

india has power shortfalls of its own, FYI

India created this mess. We told/warned/begged GOI about SL tamil issues in 2008 but not all listened to our words ,finally SL showing its real face now. India lost its influence in SL we lost our 2-3 lakhs blood brothers in SL , finally SL won. If you didn't heard your citizens voice means then ready to face the music.

As soveriegn nation,They can sign as many deals with pak as they want as long as they don't give military facilities or any alliance with china/pak.Then we go nasty in return.

The Pak-Sri Lanka cooperation has been increasing many folds since the past few years. After the LTTE, we continued to provide them small arms ammo and other stuff, then the recent visit to Sri Lankan Military Academy by the COAS.

Is this some satire ?? I am not sure if Pakistan has civilian nuclear technology. Pakistan itself it seeking it from China !

Civil nuke tech? But isn't Pakistan themselves seeking it from China?

SL could just approach the Chinese for reactors.

:what:

In tht case india is also going to US for civil nuclear deal? what do you make of that?

What have Pakistan can offer lanka? :what: Yes, Pakistan have the experince of handling nuclear reactors. But what they can provide lanka, when lankans have no nuclear reactors??
Pls don say, we know how to build the place for ur reactors. Chinese are doing those for u

Pakistan does not have technology to build nuclear reactors for power generation.
I don't know what SL is getting from Pakistan in this so called 'nuclear pact'.

We do build nuclear reactors...

That is true. Under the deal we are not allowed to sell the technology to a 3rd country. Thats the way nuke deal works.
My question is how can Pakistan transfer the tech to SL, that you got from China ???

yes Sri Lanka won -- they defeated a fierce terrorist organization that terrorized the island nation for almost a half century. You should be congratulating them.

what's the relevence here anyways??? you guys and your emotional banter

Pakistan have decided to build power plants doesnt mean they have freezed the design and started building it.
We are talking about building reactors buddy, not the support buildings inside the power plants

:) SL is strategically more important than India for many even for India itself. You know otherwise India would NOT have invested/funded LTTE terrorism there.

Secondly Chinese power and nuke plants are enough trusted to give India sleepless nights whenever there is new or another nuclear reactor for Pakistan by China.

Hence i take your comments based on your frustration.

Its a golden chance Sri Lanka must for full Chinese block and get as much as it can.

Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, can make a block with China to isolate India. Also, give access to the waters of South Asia to counter Indian navy.

Tit-for-tat: Sri Lanka considers nuclear deal with Pakistan – The Express Tribune

Sri Lanka is considering a nuclear pact with Pakistan after India voted against it at the UN this year, the Hindustan Times reported on Sunday.
According to the report, the Sri Lanka government is dragging its feet on a similar pact with India by not scheduling talks despite New Delhi’s keenness to conclude the agreement soon.
India had offered Sri Lanka a comprehensive nuclear pact that would deal with all aspects of civil nuclear cooperation, including safety and training of professionals. One round of talks was held in October last year, and India also sent Sri Lanka a draft of the pact.

No further development has taken place since and New Delhi has been waiting for a Lankan response on dates for talks.
The report cites sources as saying that foreign secretary-level talks between Sri Lanka and Pakistan have identified civil nuclear technology as a major area of cooperation. Statements made by Lankan authorities show their intent to negotiate nuclear deals with both India and Pakistan, it adds.
India’s second vote against Sri Lanka on the Tamil issue at the UN human rights council in March this year upset the country. Of the 25 countries that voted against Sri Lanka, only India and South Korea were from Asia. Thirteen members, including Pakistan and China, voted against the resolution and eight abstained. India had voted against Sri Lanka in 2012 as well.

I am confused here could some one please explain this to me?

Sri Lanka is considering a nuclear pact with Pakistan after India voted against it at the UN?

why would India vote against it if India had offered Sri Lanka a comprehensive nuclear pact that would deal with all aspects of civil nuclear cooperation, including safety and training of professionals?

:blink::blink:

Sri Lanka should choose Pakistan as the number supplier and priority for Arms Import in to Sri Lanka.

This should be their first step.
