It's unique, it's not intimidating, has no religious connotation like OP wanted. Best of all, everybody knows someone named Bob so it's very relatable.

I can already see the headlines "US declares war on Bob" or "IMF bails out Bob from financial trouble".

This title of "Islamic republic of Pakistan" is too harsh on the tongue. How many stans exist? Too many. Its too common. Need to become unique. Pakistan needs to be re imagined, reconstructed to be fit for the modern world.

Rename it.

I propose Indus.

It ties in with the cultural, historical and geographical heritage and separates it from all the stans especially Afghanistan. Its time to delink and and create a new identity.

You are being superstitious sir, stars and names don't matter, it's the nations and people who make countries great. Pakistan lacks that element, else it outranks many countries on the globe when it comes to geography, location on the map and resources. Four seasons, ocean belts, agriculture, minerals, deserts, mountains, glaciers, peaks, forests ..... you name it and Pakistan has it ............ changing the name isn't going to change anything.
