According to sources, Pakistan is reportedly planning to display up to three JF-17 Thunder fighter aircraft during Paris Air Show, which will be held from 15 to 21 June 2015. One of the aircraft is also supposed to perform flight demo. Although JF-17 Program Management Office has confirmed its presence at the air show

The JF-17 was displayed internationally for the first time at the 2010 Farnborough Airshow; aerial displays at the show were intended but were cancelled due to a late attendance decision as well as license and insurance costs.

First 8 Chinese-built fighters were delivered to Pakistan in 2007 – 2008. In 2009 an order was signed for a further 42 fighters. These were license-produced locally by Pakistan Aeronautical Complex. By 2013 Pakistan Air Force operated 50 of these aircraft and production continues. Domestic orders for the JF-17 are potentially as high as 250.

The PAC JF-17 Thunder, or CAC FC-1 Xiaolong (Fierce Dragon), is a light-weight, single-engine, multi-role combat aircraft developed jointly by the Pakistan Air Force, the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and the Chengdu Aircraft Industries Corporation (CAC) of China. The first JF-17 prototype aircraft (called FC-1) was rolled out in May 2003. It made its first flight in August 2003.

Question
The 2 seater variant's airframe and avionics will depend on Block 1 or Block 2?

To introduce the FC-1 Xiaolong multirole fighter, also known as the JF-17 Thunder, to the overseas market, China and Pakistan are going to display a two-seater version of the aircraft during the Paris Air Show held from June 15-21 this year, reports the Moscow-based Military Parade.

Known as the FC-1B or JF-17B, this two-seater fighter is likely to be equipped with the French-built M88-2 engine. It is currently equipped with the Rafale twin-engine fighter designed by Dassault for the French Air Force.

With this new engine, the range of the Xiaolong can be extended from 800 kilometers to 1,000 kilometers, according to the report. A refueling probe will be installed on the FC-1B or JF-17B as well for aerial refueling according to an unofficial source.

Other defense analysts have queried whether the M88-2 can be fitted to a two-seater Xiaolong.

Stop posting rot. No M88 engine will be install on JF-17. Wantchinatimes is famous for posting nonsense. We have yet to see even news of 2 seater protoypes being assemble. It will be very long time before 2 seater be operational.

@Windjammer @Oscar @fatman17

Is that only me or someone else as well noticed the air breathing missile ??

Pardon my ignorance if this has been declared earlier as I don't remember seeing any thing earlier with Ram Jet.

The bump of rear landing gear is disappeared as well which mean some change in airframe and that means may be more fuel.

so finally we will be able to see a HD flying display!

Those made in Pakistan or PAC are called JF-17 Thunder while those produced China carry the original designation as FC-1. (Fighter China-1)

It's a C-802 ASM.

What about this Licence produced part this wont fit in my brain as JFT is a Joint Venture and from the beginning we have our legs in it so we own it why is it mentioned that it is licensed produced that's confusing me.

A previous appearance in 2011 air show was cancelled due to France's decision to suspend export of some electronic equipments to PAF, but now since the decision has been reversed, the PAF also decided to participate.
@Horus

How would that affect Pakistan participation.

In an airshow a company or country participates to sell its aircraft. Pakistan would participate for its interest not what France decides about weapons or avionics sale.

Also, is that news about sale of avionics to Pakistan by France a confirmed news?

The French package in question was for the JF-17.
There's a thread to the effect of Pakistan and France resuming talks on the supply of avionics for the Thunder.

.
My requests to the PAF:
1) Please, do not send the JF-17 with that green camo....That paint scheme seems as if Thunder has fallen into a tub of green paint. Certainly, there are other ways to show the people that it hails from Pakistan :pakistan:
2) That grey paint scheme is nice but again, are you guys not marketing this plane ? If yes, then marketing needs some fresh ideas, one idea could be that not to use this paint scheme again and again ...try something different ....really cool ...If you don't have time, Copy Turk Solo Design with some improvisation of course ...after all we are not Indians :lol:
3) Hey ..I love the plane ...but I don't like it every time pulling the same maneuvers...improve the display format ...bring some changes ...and you don't have to present one plane flying ...it can be a pair also doing some synchronized antics up in the air ..like Gruesome Twosome :dance3:
