Three-year-old boy 'gunned' down by militants

Now where is Geelani and all the other hypocrites. Shouldnt they be getting their band of 50-60 people and chant anti-militant slogans?

Gillani and the rest of the world knows who the real killers are and they have been protesting shouldnt you come out and protest the kiiling of innocents by indian armed forces

I am against innocents being killed, whether they be by IA or militants. But atleast IA has some accountability, I can hope for some action being taken against rouge IA soldiers.

The fact that Geelani ignore killings by militants is something incomprehensible, especially as he claims to represent Kashmiris.
The only conclusion is I guess that he does'nt.

Its common practice among nation ,thats what above news reflect. Higher a killer to create a situation, which lead to division in freedom movement. Indian media is giving more boast to above news, but what happened when European union discovered mass graves of over 1000 kashmiri .

Common practice? If there was any proof that the J&K's Omar government or central governmet was involved, they would be crucified by the media dn the people. Maybe in some other countries but unlikely in J&K.

The "mass graves" which is a grave site with unmarked graves in under investigation by the GoI. Nothing has been "prooven", but if there is some truth, atleast I can expect that the guilty will be prosecuted, unlike what would happen with militants.

Besides, EU and the US both agree that Indian side of Kashmir is better off now in terms of political right and civil liberties. Check out the EU report by on Emma Nicholson

Sure they will be punished..........and they deserve to be killed ..and they will be killed very soon..
As do the Indian security forces who commit such crimes correct?

And since we only have the word of Indian officials so far, it could very well have been plains clothes para's or pro-government militias searching for militants, who killed the father and son.

Only a fair and impartial investigation will show the truth, and unfortunately I don't see that unless the UN conducts it.

Well i can understand your concerns and would agree with you from your stand point. However the issue is, this time we have no separatists burning down the valley like all the time.

We have seen separatists damaging public property for many killings which turned out be from personal rage and revenge. They are a bunch of hypocrites, if they feel Indian army did it why didn't they come out like everytime???? Well you know wot if they come out again and if they are proved wrong again.. they will lose the remaining stand amongs kashmiri mulsims. And i think these guys doesn't share your view point, and it will be very well done by militants whom they support.

and when indian army rapes women and kill innocent people , do you think they are accountable to any one...?

why indian security forces need go in plain cloths to kill this father & son duo??

They have special powers in kashmir and could have easily picked up him for iinterrogation and he could have been gone missing just like in some other cases seen in kashmir in the past..

Also this man's mother was killed in a previous attempt by the militants to kill him.U think that too was the handiwork of indian forces.

No need to make any other assumption as its very easy to see who are real culprits behind this double murder.

Two reasons that might not necessitate an inquiry by the UN to convince you:

1. The separatists have been unusually quiet on this one. Usually any incident is good enough for them to pin the blame on the security forces - as evident from the protests organized by them over the murder of a college boy whom they alleged had been killed by the security forces, but it was proven later that he was killed by his friends over some quarrel they had.

2. This guy had been shot at by the militants earlier too and in that incident he was injured and his mother killed. He was being nursed at the hospital and as soon as he return's home he is again shot at and killed along with his 3 year old son.

As do the Indian security forces who commit such crimes correct?

Indian Security Forces don't kill 3 year old's. They follow a 'code of conduct', and highly respect their uniform. Those who violate are tried in military courts. Unlike Pakistani terrorists who roam in safe havens in P_o_K Just where are you drawing the comparision?

And since we only have the word of Indian officials so far, it could very well have been plains clothes para's or pro-government militias searching for militants, who killed the father and son.

And yet seperatists are not out condemning. This is nothing but farcical allegations. The report stands as the truth, so does the testimony given by the familiy.

Only a fair and impartial investigation will show the truth, and unfortunately I don't see that unless the UN conducts it.

Since when did UN start investigating murders carried out by terrorists?

Firstly the 'Indian Army' doesn't 'rape', one or two soldiers might have. And this has happened with all armies around the world. Since IA is a professional and a highly respected organisation, an investigation is carried out, if found guilty, the soldier is court-martialled and criminal proceedings are initiated.

Just how is a Pakistani terrorist accountable?

J&K Chief minister finally saying what everyone is thinking. Kudos to Omar

Omar rejects politics of double speak, says Govt committed to uphold human rights
Omar rejects politics of double speak, says Govt committed to uphold human rights

Jammu, July 24(NAK): Ridiculing the politics of opportunism and hypocrisy, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Friday castigated double standard and political adventurism of certain politicians who perpetrate violence by blowing criminal acts out of the proportion while keeping mum on the barbarian and inhuman murdering of innocents. “They do this to disturb the peace and stability for vested interests”, he added.

The Chief Minister was addressing a mammoth public gathering after inaugurating Rs. 6.26 crore 242 meter long bridge over Bani Nallah at Ludnoo in Billawar about 120 kilometers from Jammu.

Questioning the credibility of the leaders who blackmail public sentiments over sensitive issues, Chief Minister said that had they been real champions of human rights, they would have uttered even a word against the killers of a three-year old child and his father murdered in a barbaric and inhuman act of violence in South Kashmir the other day. “It is easy to take advantage of a particular situation and mislead the people for political mileage but bravery demands to be truthful to once conscience and speak loud and clear against the killings of whatsoever nature”, he asserted.

Abdullah said that his government has time and again made it clear that it would not tolerate any misuse of power by anybody whosoever he may be and the directions to this effect have been disseminated to the law enforcing agencies at all levels. “Upholding human rights is the benchmark of our governance”, he added.

Referring to the development scenario in the State, Chief Minister said a new direction has been given to the development process and implementation of works within the targeted timeframe is being monitored at the highest level. He said, he has made it amply clear to the implementing agencies to stick to the schedule of timeframe and show no laxity in completing the schemes within the stipulated period.

Abdullah said that government was keen to reach out every area to catapult development process and upgrade basic amenities. “Focused attention is being given to the construction of roads, bridges, upgradation of PHE and health facilities and expansion and consolidation of elementary as well as higher education”, he said and asked the people to be involved in translating the schemes into reality. “We have drawn a road map to attend to all development problems and deliver in respect of all to the fullest satisfaction of the people so that we have not to ask for votes in the next election but people will itself come and vote for us for our keeping the promises and carrying forward the politico-developmental agenda”, he maintained.

The Chief Minister said that State has received greatest set back during the period of disturbances and violence resulting in lagging behind in the development process. “Government of India especially UPA Chairperson and Prime Minister has assured me all financial and logistic support to realize the goal of upgrading the infrastructure in crucial public service sectors and putting the economy of the State back on rails”, he said and added that Dr. Singh and other leaders have reiterated the support during the meetings he had with them last week.

The Chief Minister dedicating the Ludnoo bridge to the people said that this would open new vistas of economic development in the area and connect a large chunk of population with the main highway.

The bridge which is 6-span with 4.25 meter carriage way will benefit 40,000 population of about 20 villages directly and thousands others indirectly.

Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand spelt out the development agenda of the coalition government and said that equitable and speedier development of all the areas is the priority concern of the government. He said administration has been geared up at all levels to be responsive to the public needs and deliver promptly in respect of all schemes aimed at upgradation of basic amenities.

The Minister for R&B, G. M. Saroori in his address said that construction of Ludnoo bridge was the cherished desire of people. He congratulated them for the facility created by the government and said that it would generate more and more economic activities in the area.

The Minister of State for Cooperatives, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma and Member Parliament, Lal Singh also spoke on the occasion. They reiterated their determination to upgrade the facilities in the area and said that the bridge will prove highly beneficial not only for the connectivity purpose but for the total economic development of the area.

Advisor to Chief Minister, Mubarak Gul, MOS R&B Javed Ahmed Dar, MLA Kathua Charanjeet Singh, MLA Basholi Jagdish Sapolia were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation of another bridge at Jajjar about 40 kilometers from Jammu. The 164 meter long double Lane Bridge over Jajjar Nallah is likely to cost Rs. 16.20 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, he said “public service is my political mission and my all endeavors are towards this direction”. He said road connectivity has been flagged as priority area and government is focusing on opening up of un-connected villages by extending roads there. He said upgradation and improvement of existing roads and construction of bridges is yet another important activity receiving special attention of the government. He asked the implementing agency to complete the bridge within the prescribed period to ensure timely benefits to the people.(NAK)

With reduction in cross-LOC infiltration by terror groups, the separatists are now reduced to a stone-pelting force, with its leaders breaking-away and losing elections. Omar is standing up to the aspirations of thousands of Kashmiris who elected in favour of his government, but still a long way to go to bring J&K to pre-1989 state.
