NEW DELHI: Three more French-origin Rafale fighters touched down at the Jamnagar airbase in India, after mid-air refueling by tankers of France and UAE, on Wednesday night. The three new jets will add to the 26 such 4.5-generation fighters, which have a combat range of 780-km to 1,650-km without mid-air refueling, already delivered to India. The Indian Air Force (IAF) will get all the 36 twin-engine Rafales, contracted under the Rs 59,000 crore deal inked with France in September 2016, in batches by early next year.
The two Rafale squadrons, the 17 'Golden Arrows' in Ambala and 101 'Falcons' in Hasimara, are already operational and flying missions during the continuing 17-month-long military confrontation with China in eastern Ladakh.
The omni-role Rafales are armed with long stand-off weapons like the over 300-km range 'Scalp' air-to-ground cruise missiles. The fighters are also equipped with the top-notch Meteor air-to-air missiles, which with a strike range of 120 to 150-km can outgun any missile that can currently be unleashed by Pakistani or Chinese jets.
IAF had also ordered the "Hammer" air-to-ground precision-guided munitions for the Rafales in a fresh deal last year. With a strike range of 20 to 70-km, the Hammer munitions are designed to destroy bunkers, hardened shelters and other targets in all terrains, including the mountainous one in Ladakh.

its right time for china and pakistan surrender . may be india forgive them
I think India will destroy few more trees across the border and run before facing face to face battle to prove their 59,000 crores didn’t go to waste.

I agree Pakistan and China should surrender to save the environment

On 27th February 2019 InAF was at mercy of PAF

The IAF situation have improved with the introduction of the Rales - you cannot discount them - but given that they now face the combined wrath of both the PLAAF(who has 2 active stealth fighter programmes and 1 stealth bomber programme) and PAF who has large fleet of AMRAAM equipped fighters and an even larger JF17 force that will soon be equipped with the PL15E and superior AESA radars aswell. The Meteor and PL15E are comparable in specifications but with the PAF having better situation awareness and network centric warfare fighting capabilities right now - the IAF is in real terms - real real trouble.

The JF17 Block IIs have neutralised the fleet of Su30MKIs, Mig29s, M2k-5s with only the Rafale posing a threat to the F16 - which will be countered by JF17 Block IIIs.

If the Indians went for 114 Rafales as per their long running procurement project - they may be able to buy themself some headroom for some time - but that is all.

paf reality is poor
f16 are mostly obselete block 50
the tbundrsz block 1,and 2 have poor fbw no compsite and poor radar and basic sd10 bvr
the new block 3 you claim.to be super is now whete to be seen yet and then only afford,30 planes even though it's cheap by any standards
no long range sam option to fight off the ever increasing threat of India be it scalp on Rafale Brahmos or new usa reaper drones or israeli spice .
biggest issue your financially screwed your national currency is worthless I think 160 per dollar
ridiculous scenario
so in short paf is no threat now or in future,

We will be getting J-10C from China to counter Rafale. I dont know why the Indians are making such a big deal about getting the Rafale. Some delusional idiots claimed that the only way Pakistan could counter the Rafale was by getting 5th generation aircraft from China. All I can say is LMAO.... Forget 5th generation even the 4.5th generation J-10C is more than a match for the Rafale.

Man, if your generals think like you do, we're gonna have alot of fun in the future :cheesy:

Secondly, buying every weapon in the market does not equal military strength. If that was the case, Israel would've been wiped out years ago by the Arabs. Yet, they persist. A country's armed forces is a fully functioning organism, where coordination is key. And it's safe to say we're much better coordinated than you are because the last time shit got real, a Mi-17 got shot down.

Back on topic, PAF shall always retain first-see-first-shoot capability due to the higher number of AWACs, projects like Vision and the inevitable arrival of PL-15E. Lack of BVRs in Kargil was a lesson in that particular aspect of warfare and thankfully, we learnt. The Rafale is an amazing fighter no doubt, and the Meteor is a force to be reckoned with, but it's not unbeatable. There's a reason USA is fast-tracking the development of AIM-260 since the introduction of PL-15 instead of just getting Meteors from Europe(assuming that's possible). Anything that's a challenge for USAF fighters is more than enough for IAF(that one is a fact).
