We want trade with India. A healthy trade with India that would help prosper both India and Bangladesh. Your government simply runs AL and the deals that AL makes are much favorable to India than they are to Bangladesh. Bringing your companies in BD will kill the local businesses, as simple as that.

That would be seen as war on Bangladesh, our forces will attack your country, in return you will invade us and suffer huge casualty and lots of money. International community will not support you in this as you will be seen as the agressor, blockading the dam will be seen as an act of war. If you think Afghans are good at guerilla warfare, you havent seen 150 million bengalis in guerilla warfare my friend.

you folks should market this term in the media like Israels do it with Israelis that support palestenians. Claims have been discussed over and over, please go through few of the other threads in this forum, you'll find plenty. The transit for only 50 million dollars is a joke, the transit is worth way more than that, if you think otherwise than you have India tinted goggles. Another one, during the BDR mutiny our BAL leader calls Delhi for support. I can give you a lot more but i'll let you do your research.

You do realize that we have other longer route too. Time and cost analysis with the shorter transit route through Bangladesh wouldn't be profitable if you put the price beyond that. I guess you are simply over estimating your leverage and service value here.
Calling support from Delhi isn't really that unnatural a thing to do considering that we are the only neighbors you have.

That is just one dimension of the story. If transit really happens it will create a massive development in the NE India due to directly integrating with mainland India. This value is much much higher then any charged fee. Let alone we are hearing that the recent crack down on ULFA by Bangladeshi government will save 4-6 billion USD which india spent on huge 450 k military personal in NE India.

Longer route - more time and fuel and there by more man hours
Shorter route - Less time and fuel and there by less man hours

You are getting $ 50 million . Have you done the cost analysis for both options? how do you know that it's more than 50 million dollars? consider the freight corridor traffic, parameters like the investment that you put (if specifically for the transit), the population on the other side to cater etc., Don't simply over estimate the value here.

The other thing about calling says that the parties believed that India is NO threat to their sovereignty and is not an aggressor.

First thing we already have another Transit route though Myanmar's Sittwe Port. Another things you guys are also getting duty free access to many of your exports to India. $50 Million is just initial ammount you goes will make $1 Billion yearly by this transit route. Even you won't provide transit route to India, Myanmarese are giving a better deal and their country is not making any fake propaganda about the deal.

First of all you guys can't hijack our plans in North-East over Transit because Myanmarese gave us better deal through Sittwe Port. Second thing according to India's "Look East" policy India will develop North East through Co-operation with South-East Asian country like Myanmar, Vietnam, China etc and opening of Ledo Road for trade with China through Myanmar. Bangladesh is just a small player in our "Look East Policy" and our major focus is on Myanmar and those guys trust India most. If a tiny country like Bangladesh with widespread problems chooses hostility with India, then go with it, it is your choice.

You understand that many of the illegal migrants from BD are illiterate or semi-literate unskilled workers who won't exactly get a job as a software programmer. If you have a chance come to Kerala and see for yourself the number of BDs working in the state.

Can you further provide information about those 5 lakhs illegal immigrants as far I know unemployed Indian move to booming Megacities like Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Mumbai etc. etc. Why would an Indian put his life in danger for illegal immigrant when he has legal right to work anywhere in India. Dhaka is definitely not a Booming city like Indian cities.
