This is baloney.
You need to patent even open source software. Even if you do not intend to earn anything from it, you need to patent your inventions so that someone else could not.
Do you think that LINUX does not have a patent. It has you fool! Ever read terms and condition you have to agree to in any open source software? Just because it does not charge you money does not mean that it does not have a Patent.
But then, you need to follow procedures to apply for patent. Patents are granted by government allowing an inventor to maintain a monopoly on his invention for a limited time in exchange for clear and detailed disclosure of inventions . In order to be eligible for patent, an invention must be
1. Patentable (Laws of nature, Physical phenomenons, abstract ideas, plants grown from natural seed etc are not patentable);Invention has to be a product of Human inventiveness
2. Useful; Invention has certain identifiable benefits and is capable of being used.
3. New or Novel; If someone already has a patent for your invention, you cannot get a patent.
4. Enablement; specification of patent should contain a written description of the invention and manner and process of making and using it in full, clear, concise, and exact terms in order to enable any person skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same and shall set forth the best mode contemplated by the inventor to carry out his invention.
As by your own admission, since you do not have anything to show for your clockless microprocessor ,Which anyone who even know basics of microprocessor manufacturing and design could tell, that does not exist (because microprocessors are collection of large number of nanometer long transistors and require perfect dustless environment for their manufacture and could not be done in a garage), you could not get a patent as your processor does not fullfills requirement no 2,3,&4 of patent law.

milspec particularly does not deserve to be think tank because he is anything but a thinking man.

No one piled upon you because you criticized software industry. People piled upon you because you insulted hardworking people earning a honest wage, calling them names, while you yourself are a useless person living on his parent's wealth while doing backchodi on internet.
