Thread management in Bangladesh Defence section

Thanks to Munshi Bhai for kind words of support. To idune Bhai and M_Saint Bhai, Indian posters will be there, we cannot stop them, the only thing we can do is ignore meaningless off topic troll posts, aimed to derail threads, unless of course all of us decide to move to our own forum, but I think we are not ready for that yet.

These are however not subsections, so no need for moderation by forum mods, instead we will create normal threads, where we will put all country related discussions and then eventually make them sticky if mods agree with it. We will ignore the haphazardly created threads and re-post the same issue in the proper thread where will carry on the discussions.

Thank you for opening this thread. We lose many important posts and tracks of discussions just because of opening several threads on the same issue, sometimes even by the same poster. For example, right now there are some 8/9 threads discussing the Rohingya refugee issue. The discussion would have been more organized if we had started only one thread on Rohingya issue and posted updates on the same thread. On the other hand, it wouldn't be a good idea to post all Rohingya related news and discussions on ‘Bangladesh-Myanmar relations’ thread- you would simply lose your interest and the track of discussion in a thread full of incoherent sub-topics along with rants and raves, flames, duels and off-topic side discussions. I think to get you interested in a discussion the length of a thread is critical. Too long threads with little coherence of posts are repulsive.

We also need a little bit more involvement from the moderators. Threads on current issues can be made sticky temporarily. If a member starts another thread on the same topic, depending on the importance, this could be deleted or merged with the original one. Also if there already exists a sticky thread on a current issue a poster would automatically be discouraged to open a new one.
