While Tesla engineers have been gradually adding autonomous capabilities to its electric stable, Chinese firm LeEco has gone one step further and announced a car that can do it right from the off.

The LeSEE, announced last night in China, managed to drive itself out of a shipping container and on to the stage with little more than a few voice commands spoken into a smartphone by CEO Jia Yueting. It even reversed, too.

Not a big fan of boasting. But traffic on Chinese road certainly provides greater challenge to the designers of robotic cars.

Don't think I'll trust my life to a Chinese autonomous car until there is more verification (preferably from Chinese consumers). China doesn't exactly have a good history when it comes to quality control.

To date, we are at level 2. Not even at the cusp of 2 and 3. More like at the low end of level 2. Am not talking about under controlled conditions but about the vehicle manages to negotiate the practically infinite variations of road environmental conditions, traffic volume, and pedestrian presence.

Now, to be fair, you can summon your Tesla via smartphone, but not using voice commands, yet. But this is a big jump for LeEco, a company that has previouslyproduced smartphones and has zero pedigree in the automative space.

This is a demonstration for the big guy. I hope BYD looks at it and see if it makes sense to buy this company and take over its technology.

Now I heard that Chinese prefer Made in Japan Smart toilet bidet seat, and trying to make comparable one.
Good move.

Actually those smart toilet bidet seat are mainly made by Japanese companies that are located in China. Those smart toilet bidet seats were initially designed for and targeted at a specific market-Japan, but later suddenly became a product that amazes Chinese tourists
