Just went through one of his blogs about Bhagawat Gita and to be honest it was an extremely well researched article. Dash is critical about the authenticity of the claims regarding the antiquity of this text, the proclaimed inherent peaceful character of it and he is vehemently condemning about the caste system that religious texts like Manu Samhita, Shatapatha Brahmanas sermonized. Dash just does not reveal out his personal opinions but quotes from scholars, both western and Indians in his claim. His death is a sad affair indeed and I hope his murder does not silent others in Bangladesh who belongs to the same belief that he had. Rest in peace.

my Request to you both to chill out and take a back seat both of you have gotten personal. there was no need for "piss" contest.

the story is done with isn't it? why not more out somewhere else without insulting each other?

re urine issue of camel and cow, why not look at the positive side of it? there were some medical benefits identified to it why not we both stop mocking each other over it? by the way in the time of need your own urine can help you to live in a survival situation.
my request to all respected Hindus, I cant ask you NOT to be offended when your faith is insulted like this but rest assured that there are many Muslims who don't believe in this kind of behaviour exhibited by some fellow Muslims who actually go against a very clear advice by Muhammad PBUH who forbade Muslims from insulting the deities of other faiths and their practices as their faith will be insulted in return and they will be responsible for it.

Nobody is insulting them. Where had i insulted their deities or whatever here ? as far as piss or whatever is the issue with them he started it and i merely reminded him again and again we have no issue with their drinking piss or whatever so they need NOT to insult our Prophet .

Some Indian members like him are repeatedly insulting our Prophet here in this thread as well as our religion so these Hindus getting offended and we Muslims should not be ?

They need to go cry river somewhere else if they can not debate in a civil way . Do not expect me to tolerate any Insult to my Prophet (PBUH).

There is more to this. He wont be killed for his well researched articles quoting others. If i understand these islamist attackers correctly - then they take mockery as the number one Offense. Niyat or Intention is taken very seriously in islamic circle. Its like if you draw hundred pictures of mohammad, they wont notice, actually medieval islamic books had a lot of drawings of muhammad.. If you draw one funny picture of him - its taken as insult.

Plus these killings started recently. But this cult of atheists who find pleasure in mocking prophet is active in bangla net sphere for 8-9 years. You google fb pages like luicha nobi and you will understand.

Kill anyone who say Islam is not peaceful.If it was done by a Hindu or Christian or atheist then almost every Hindu, Christian or Atheist would condemn such act but whereas most Muslim support it. I read at least three verse on internet which ask believer to kill non Muslim. I think that its complete Islamic act. They cry about minority right where muslim are minority and where they are in majority, they simply say that its a Muslim country, no place minority.

Going through his other blogs as well, Dash did not seem fit to be regarded as a counter-cultural radical per se as Wendy Doniger is; merely a rationalist seems more apt. Perhaps his niyat was as usual misinterpreted by the religious fundamentalists.

Criticism and abusing two different things. ANd if someone is singling out Islam for his hateful propaganda against it then he is not atheist but pretending to be so better drop this tag atheist first and show your true face i.e anti-Islam extremism . There are no two ways in Islam. You either take or leave it. You either believe in Sharia concepts of Islam or you don't. There is no room for homos, infidelity, women dressing liberally, depicting of the prophet in cartoon form, etc in Islam. If you support any of that or engage in any of it, you are not Muslim. It's simple as that.

The Hindus in Bangladesh are doing their utmost to undermine the Islamic principles by which Bangladesh is governed. This is why it is best they leave Bangadesh, rather than face death when they do in fact publicly to try undermine the country's moral principles, as these bloggers have been finding out. You don't want to live in it, leave. Simple.

You are the man. Organize(read 'persuade') your Hindus to come here. You have my full support. @Rain Man will help you with the logistics. Better to come and live here than die for ... drawing cartoons/writing stuff maybe?

Gita is actually controversial if you skim over the top of it. If you want you can extract peace from it, if you want you can get war from it. The crux is (IMO) what YOU want. Personal conscience. That is and should be independent of religion.

I think Islamist believe in unseen so breaking their beliefs would be equivalent to breaking seen idols.

More than personal conscience, it depends on which chapter one is reading, imo. I never liked the whole of it but selected chapters like Karma and jnana yoga for their demand of much more thoughtfulness than the others. Dash did not venture in that way but he was generally questioning the arguments of Krishna for killing the ones within the family.

Yes, of course. How about 1/3 of Bangladesh? The Northern Third will benefit us tremendously. The link to the NE is one. Greater stability is another. Bhutan will support this. So will Myanmar and Nepal. Bangladesh needs to be bifurcated for her own good. Perhaps Haseena can be persuaded...

Yeah. The questions were mine too. But I got good satisfactory answers from some folks, including one who stayed at Belur Math for 11 months. Perhaps Dash did not find someone who could answer him well enough. Too bad, he won't get them anymore.
