It is very easy for some you to lecture these young students on how they are being irresponsible and that they need to pay their loans. These are young people just starting their lives with no knowledge on how money and debt works. But this is not the point. The point is that a Society that does not provide free education to its people but sells education via imposing a system where young human beings becomes debt slaves, it is a Moronic authoritarian society that traps its young people in debts and slavery.

This beautiful World has been turned into such a fuc.ked up place. Pathetic!

I could easily pay by driving trucks in america...he will be able to pay $20000 in a few years...easy....even though truck drivers over there dont make much...but nonetheless one can surely pay $20000...one can easily make $1000/week as a company driver...cook your own food...find a company that gives you condo like sleeping trailers...fedex reefer contractors have many such trailers...never need to pay for hotels...like ever...toil like that for a few years you can easily make it out...if they give me the green card i can pay off this guys debt if some company can sponsor my CDL that is .

Studying has become expensive and an option for people with money.

How many people in your prestigious university graduate with Philosophy degrees and then complain no company will hire them for big bucks?

The problem with student debt is people forking out insane amounts for USELESS degrees and then complaining they can't get a high paying job to pay it back. They think (which is ironic for his Philosophy degree) that the second they graduate they'll be in high demand for big bucks no matter how stupid the degree is. The reality is people need to look at the average salary for a given degree and its demand.

There are no shortage of people who get insane loans when they are in college only to be wishy-washy about what they want to do in life. When confronted with a list of majors they go and blow it by picking what they think is a "safe" generic degree like "Liberal Arts" or "Philosophy". This gets them a bottom of the barrel job when they graduate. They will then struggle to pay their loans off. If you want a useless degree go get it at a cheap state college not some expensive private college.

I remember seeing this girl from my college graduation class working in the same supermarket job I used to do when I was in high school (except it was full-time for her). WTF!!! Is that the dumbest way to blow money or what?

The university I work at has some of the best faculties and studies in the world. When I say prestigious I really mean it. There is a reason why rich kids from all over the world including the US queue up to enjoy an education at this university. This university attracts world's top researchers. Our university excells at economics among other studies and is ranked among top universities each ranking.

Your rant still doesn't explain how students end up with insane amounts of debt. In fact there are plenty of students who have to repay insane amounts of debt even if they made the so-called right choice of study.

Yeah that's fcuked up . but these people do know what field of study pays and which ones are useless? I just too a Continuing Education class that has a 1 hour class on student loans. I had no value as to the actual data , figures and circumstances til I took the class. One of the clients that this company was dealing with had over 100K in dbt and she ( the instructor) said that she didn't even wanna tell us what field of study that debt pertained to as we would all probably laughing about it.
Its sad to see even otherwise that most of the population has no savings whatsoever, are house poor and one paycheck away from being homeless. I used to service mortgages so I got to see the everyday reality of most Americans and it was pretty bad. It seems like it has not changed much. Folks like myself ( immigrants) always seem to do better in life mainly because we do not overindulge and waste money.
