1. WARDAG, May 26 – A dozen of the US invaders were killed and wounded in a clash with Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate occurring in Chak district of Wardag province, the report indicated on Wednesday, adding two of the Mujahideen embraced martyrdom during the fighting.

Most figures today are extremely underreported. You can tell by the day-to-day events that are taking place, with 37 terrorist attacks just taking place on May 25. Besides, it was the Soviets & the Afghan government vs the US-Pakistan-Saudi Arabia-UK-Israel-Egypt-China-Canada supporting the Mujahideen. The number of US troops in Afghanistan is about 100,000 right now, & the Soviets were over 120,000. But the US are facing a lot more insurgents (beyond count) than what the Soviets were facing. The US has also faced tougher fighting than what the Soviets did, & made little to no progress in Afghanistan. In fact, they have made things worse in Afghanistan as the Taliban has only gotten stronger.



I think you really need to read about the US's economic activity right now, & how the industry base of this country is collapsing, because you clearly don't know what you're talking about. Living here in America for the last 10 years, I have seen this country collapse economically, & is just getting worse.

Thats what peopled said about the Vietnam war. People concluded that America would collapsed but that didn't happened. And if you think the Taliban are stronger how come they have to keep hiding in Pakistan during winters and come back during the Spring? They should have taken back Afghanistan long time ago now. And casualty reports are not underreported, it is current. This shows that the Taliban are having a hard time inflicting the casualties like the Mujahadeen during the 80s cause there were more supporters than there are now. The reason for low casualties is cause they can only use IEDs.

Afghan Civilian Deaths 2010-GUARDIAN March 11, 2011

U.N.A.M.A. reported that the Afghan taliban killed nearly three-quarter of the afghan civilians whom died because of this conflict last year. 75%. Underreported? Therefore actually larger? That number isn't unusual either. They've consistently killed more civilians than I.S.A.F-and the numbers have been growing yearly.

Moreover, many of those killed have been TARGETED specifically via executions and suicide attacks.

They've not done a map for 2010. Still, having a "heavy" insurgent presence in 2009 is denoted by one or more lethal or nonlethal attack per week. Not per hour. Not per day. 52 attacks in a year, whether somebody dies or not, is sufficient for a "heavy" presence in an area.

What would a map of Pakistan look like with similar criteria?
