These are amazing achievements looking at how big Turkey is, where it's located and how much population it has.

The only super power with limited population is Russia, but they have the resources from all the land.

Iran and Egypt has population similar to ours and is also located in Middle East, how well are they doing?

You want an islamic society but truth is that ALL islamic societies are failed or very poor ones unless they have OIL which will run out eventually and they too will become another poor country the west looks down upon.

@Targon, No matter what some Islamist retards around here talk about or wish religion in Turkey (like in every other country around the world, even in Iran and Saudi Arabia) is losing ground and support especially among the young people, the middle class and the educated parts of the society and that will be the case even if they build a mosque and an imam hatim next to every house in Turkey. An educated and secular person will never turn into an Islamist no matter what but on the other hand many people from conservative and religious backgrounds lose their strict faith in religion every day. Even the Islamists who always talk about what faithfull Muslims they are are hiddenly watching p0rn, drink alcohol, use facebook trying to hook up with someone, watch western movies and dream about the new Iphone etc... they just don't admit it because they are hypocrites and are afraid of the opinion of the other religious hypocrites around them. The low IQ hypocrites are the most dangerous though- people who have doubts in themselves and their beliefs are easiers to being radicalized and manipulated, to believe in conspiracy theories and made up stories (you see them in here too).

In the global world we are living at though you can travel, watch tv and use internet, listen to foreign music etc by using internet and satelite TV and it is harder to keep people away from the influences of the 21st century. Medias are more powerful than imams these days. You see them Islamists always being loud about how much faith they have and always look for attention- the snakes are always most dangerous and try to bite when they die... in that case when their cause is dying because no matter what they do in a period of 100 years from now Islam, Christianity or whatever other organized religion we know today won't be as powerfull as it is now. Progress, Science and Knowledge always win in the end though. That's the truth the people living in the 15th century can't accept...

ps By hitting your head in the floor 5 times a day you don't build space rockets and nuclear reactors, you don't send people to the Moon or missions to Mars, you don't create companies like Apple, Samsung, Toyota or Siemens or make discoveries that change the world and humanity every day.
If someone says I am not right I am asking him to pray to Allah to send him a working space ship and call me when that happens.

You got these low iq religious people in Turkey that will pray for a new car, more money and even pray to pass a school exam (instead of studying).

What I hate most is these religious low iq people blaming everything on GOD.

For example sometimes I see a stupid family with 3 people and a small child on a motorcycle, no helmets at all.

Or they drive without seatbelt in a car, or they do something else stupid.

Then when they die they say "it was fate".. "it was meant to be"... "it was his/her time and God's wish".
In Turkish they say "kader".

That is what I hate most about these people, instead of blaming themselves they blame FATE which in reality is same as blaming God.

Most religion has it's root in India even Jesus and his 12 followers, first it was India, then Horus of Egypt, then Jesus.

It seems a lot of these things originate in India and religion is copied every 1000 years.

I think how we pray has to do with some ancient Indian yoga or meditation or something, maybe Indians or Pakistanis can answer this?

Want to add this, in India the word they use for these flying machines (UFO's) seems to be "Vimana" my instinct told me to look up the meaning of the word "vimana" and behold:

I have many relatives all very religious and conservative but they ALL respect and love Ataturk.

I think these religious people that hate Ataturk aren't even Turks and they just "pretend" to be Turks to start fights and so on.

That is correct. Its same in Iran. Newer generations are rapidly become distant to religion.

In Turkey, a decade or more ago almost everyone were Muslim. Even if it was in name only. Even today being a non-believer is a big sin for old generation Kemalists. But after AKP has got into power children of those "in name only muslims" has rapidly started to put a distance between themselves and religion. Now you can see people openly declaring that they are Atheists. Through the AKP era number of non-believers has probably tripled, may be quadrupled or more. I do not consider myself a Muslim and my parents are AKP voters.

Not only that, children of religious families are also slowly changing. Some are openly declaring war on their parents ideals(I personally met many such people), some are straying away from traditional values and conservative stance while staying muslim. I had a crush on a girl who was wearing hijab and was whole heartedly a believer. But she was anti-akp, was listening to metal and loved star wars and lotr. Some others stay conservative although lose the traditional values(Süslümans).

Just because the AKP dominates the politics and media, those people think that conservative stances and islamic values get stronger. They cannot see the real silent ones. The reality is AKP just gives a cosmetic upgrade to people who were already conservative even before they got into power. They open instutions, they get more mediatic, they open more imam hatips, they promote Islam but the reality is AKP will never go beyond %50s, but can easily drop below %50 depending on siuation. And %50 was always conservative. Even before AKP.
