The Status of Pakistan's Radar Network During US raid

The bottom line is they had the Awac in air it told the helicopters where to move in order to avoid being detected by , Pakistan F16 fighters, and as the article states our F16 fighters did not know where to start looking , if we had our Awacs or radars active , perhaps that would have resulted in an engagement in air

As far as , Hornets are concerned , the F16 fighters would have been a capable match for the Awacs but if they were also supported by 1-2 Raptors which would not have been visible on radars things would have been interesting

I think the main confusion we have is this could all have been avoided if intelligence was shared and its a big backstabbing from US

Of epic proportions -

We should look to get Flankers and J10B earliest as possible and get some high altitude air defences form china as soon as possible

If Americans were idiots enough to use a BOMBER to bomb Pakistan that would have been suicidal for them as it would have went nuclear very fast and ugly

The Americans - just wanted to come in and go under 45 minutes that was their goal

They reach destination , conduct operation in 20 minutes , and fly out 15 minutes

This shows a weakness in our response - and its something Pakistan Airforce should learn from

Don't be in such a hurry TO confront the US - She's big and she's bad - Patience - US is big on offense, how should an opponent, one which can offer a close technological and capabilities match, seek to counter the US - - For Instance, how would the US be supplied in Afghanistan if the Pakistan route is closed immediately -- not as a hostile gesture, you understand, but to provide security within the country -- That kind of leaves the US navy with a real job to do -- Regardless of the hostile noises US and Iran make at each other, Iranians offer US blanket over fly, and as does Pakistan - now without these over fly permissions, what might US operations look like??

So, Patience, she will see sense (not likely) or be made to see sense (more likely)

dont forget that the big bad lady has gone poor recently and cant afford another war

if a war started between pakistan and usa than it will be bad for both
it will mark the beginning of WW3. a war between Islam and Kufar that has been predicted by Quran and Sun nah before the judgment day.

Anyways...i am grateful that we didnt encounter or shoot those helis else we would have gotten a barrage of F/A 18 hornets from the USS Carl winson and jalalabad airbase adn resulted in a bloodbath.!!

yes next time we would just bend over & when USA is done and exits we should ask "will that be all sir"?!!!! :hitwall:

yes hypocrite, corrupt, liars are "leading the muslims" against the kufars! great war that would be please don't classify pakistan and pakistanis as "muslims" we are everything a muslim MUST NOT BE!

The fact of the matter is this.

United States has superior technology (atleast 40-50 years ahead of anything that Pakistan has) and they easily penetrated our radar system and killed Bin Laden. USA was only interested in killing terrorists hiding out in Pakistan which I totally support.

Pakistan's sovereignty is being violated by these Foreign Terrorists roaming freely in Pakistan. I support any move which results in their deaths be it drones, US Raids, or Pakistani operations.

The only danger is that India could try to do something similar in the future.

A War between Pakistan and USA would be over in a matter of hours. We fly Planes sold to us by the United States. Our Air Force would be annihilated if we confront the United States. With our Air Cover gone, our ground forces would be pounded mercilessly.

Please come to reality.

The only danger is that if the Military of Pakistan is destroyed, anarchy would rule over Pakistan which is a greater danger.

well if this happens then US has to say goodbye to its forces in Afghanistan. . .

It looks like PAF was in full confidence that NATO or US Air Force will not violate Pakistani air space,as Pakistan is a full ally of them. if some ally violate your territory then in future you will take some precautions in advance even for your allies.

PAF is feeling so much embarrassment because it was decided in advance as an ally that NATO or USA will only attack drones in Khyber Pk. In actual PAF is condemning the role of USA as an ally.

In the whole world which ally violate the air space of her ally ????:coffee:

Indian Air Force is also getting modernized day by day and would PAF use the same arguments of technological difference again? If PAF or Pakistan's air defence network is not technologically advanced, then who is responsible for it? Common man is not responsbile for it. Funds have been provided by the Govt time and again and its the responsibility of the concerned dept to develop or purchase the right equipment. The orientation of defences towards India reminds me of the french defensive Maginot Line towards Germany in 2nd World War. German army simply went around the defences and rendered them useless because an attack from behind the Maginot line was not imagined and taken into account.

.
This particular event of intruding into pakistani airspace undetected or unopposed may also be related to MMRCA competition in India. On 1st May 2011, US ambassador to India resigned from his post, apparently because on 28th April 2011, US F/A-18 and F-16 fighters were dropped from the MMRCA competition. This deal was important for US. The deal has not been signed yet and chances of getting the contract are still there.

Why was F/A-18E/F Super Hornet dropped despite having an operational AESA radar as compared to other MMRCA contendors? May be India is pushing for more technology from US. The key may be air defence suppression (SEAD) capability with jammers and anti-radiation missiles like AGM-88 HARM. US promptly demonstrated this capability to India by penetrating deep into Pakistan. Now if US agrees to include E/A-18G Growlers with F/A-18E/F Super Hornets, then the package becomes irresistable. Growler is the latest US Electronic Warfare platform with air defence suppression capabilites and has recently been used in Libya as has done Rafale.

Other alternative is the use of technology derived from Tornado ECR in the Eurofighter. Tornado ECR is also an air defence suppression platform used by Italy and Germany.

Now you are learning. Do you know why the US has such kick-as$ planes? They always told congress that the commies had star-destroyers and TIE Fighters. After the cold war we found that thier planes were not as threatening as advertised

It's easy to show power against adversaries with only AK-47s or a ragtag army of Saddam.
When the brave americans face an enemy like the Vietcong army they simply do the toilet in their pants.

No one needs to bend over in front of USA,

UNLESS

Many among our nation are bent over in front of Ben Fing ladeen type Biddus.

Your comment clearly shows lack of pro-Pakistan thoughts and intellectual effort. Is it by accident? Or the result of too much "shoving" by taliban sympathizers aka Talibleeses.

peace.

NATO forces are not packed in a single place in Afghanistan. And US can deploy advanced defensive systems there.

Furthermore, if (God forbid) US comes after us; it will make appropriate preparations accordingly first. Never generalize about enemy tactics.

And by this term - "say goodbye to its forces in Afghanistan," I presume that you are talking about using nukes?

Nukes are 'last resort' weapons. They can invite self-destruction. Using them on other Islamic states would be extremely foolish strategy. It would make more sense to use or threaten to use them on non-friendly states, if situation becomes so DIRE. However, be prepared to be WIPED OUT in such a scenario. The US will actually inform our administration before commencing hostilities that what are the red lines, which if crossed would guarantee a nuclear reponse from it.

Therefore, let us hope that things do not go this way.
