What's new

The reason India is being targetted by the west (Rape)

WOW....thats new to me. thanks for the post.:D Think we shouldnt be judging India just based on some rapes here and there like many members here are doing. In fact all of you 'Asians' on here who are criticising the west/U.S for being biased and spreading propaganda against you people, yet you are still the first to believe as fact what our so called 'propaganda news channels' broadcasts about you people.loool just look at how Chinese on here ainsult India on many topics as the rape capital of the world, corrupt, inefficient etc, Indians also regard China as a dictatorial communist one party state who enslaves all its people to work their *** off for western multinationals and have no freedom at all.lool etc I can go on and on........Thing is India and China still rely on our media to know each other, afterall, how many permanent news correspondent does China have in India and vice versa?? :cheesy: barely any, you all rely on our evil media which you always criticize, yet believe.lool Seems our 'propaganda' works on all of you afterall.

Sadly I must say you are right, western media has achieved its objective.

By the way I try my best to quote non western news source as you can see in my post above. The chinese mostly quote US sources and regard it as the absolute truth.

But yes this must stop.

.
Now the big bad western media is portraying India as a country of sick minded perverted men and India is innocent ? :D

I presume that most of the Indian men on this forum are from upper middle class families or the wealthier Indian families. Their mingling with their working class/laborer and unemployed counterparts are therefore limited, extremely limited. The fact remains that social manners and the mindset of the Indian working class and unemployed or uneducated/lowly educated (presumably) is nothing to boast about. Indian culture (not religion) is degenerate. It is despicable. And if you don't believe me, go and watch the comments of the rapist and his lawyers in the BBC documentary. That documentary wasn't scripted. It was filmed as it happened. The banning of the documentary by India was to hide the truth. The hogwash about "conspiracy against India's growth/becoming a large scale employer in the west etc remains simply bullshit.

In fact, Indian culture is not really much different from the culture of Saudi Arabia and many extremist Muslim groups when it comes to viewing women. For them women must cover up, shut up and pay up when they want to marry. That pesky Indian on the bus who harasses a girl with his stubborn and idiotic persistence is no different from the Indian industrialist who believes that the sooner he marries off his daughter to his colleagues' son and scores on a big deal as a reward, the better.. So perhaps I retract my earlier statement that the educated/wealthier should be distinguished from the uneducated/poorer. They all have the same mindset except that the educated/wealthier is more diplomatic in his ways of expressing that women are worthy of nothing less than pimping or treating with contempt. India is unsafe for single women travelers. That is a reality. Don't sugarcoat the truth. The taxi driver or the tour guide will spare no effort to harass a woman traveling alone and if shunned by the woman, they wouldn't hesitate to pass the word to their friends that a woman is staying alone at a certain hotel. It really isn't the fault of these men though. When you grow up in a society which idolizes men and regards girls as a liability, you are bound to raise a nation of self centered and often insecure men who become violent when the object of their fantasy resists their feeble and often unmanly attempts to seduce her. That object is supposed to be an object who should worship them in the same way that mummy or daddy or didi does. Her refusal to do so may result in her death. Ask Jyothi Singh if you don't believe me.

By banning the BBC documentary in India, the government purely tapped the shoulders of the potential rapists and men of India who harass women on a regular scale, prodding them on and telling them "chalo betha, I got your back covered". Well done India !

. .
We acknowledge our problem with eyes wide open, in ur case that's unlikely:enjoy::lol:

Chinese members claim there is no problem in China because gay rape and child rape is legal in China.

The communist party makes the best laws in the world. No one is breaking the law there.

.
I don't think it is the whole of West. US hasn't said anything. France, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Poland, Switzerland etc haven't said anything.

Just UK seems to be pissed off for heavens-know-what reasons. It is just not used to neglect for a long time. :D

They hate the idea of power flowing away from the Western world.

Think about the fear and hysteria they had of Japan in the 1970's. It was a new "yellow peril" for them, leading to hate crime attacks on anyone in America who looked Japanese. Even some Chinese and Koreans were killed in hate crimes after being mistaken for Japanese during that period.

Do you think they would have done the same if it was Australia instead of Japan?

No way, because Australia is part of the Western world. No more "yellow peril".

Now if they had that reaction to the economic rise of Japan, imagine how they will feel about the BRICS.

You are right.

400+ years of domination has caused some handful of European countries to think that they own the entire world; UK being first and foremost. Time and again Asian countries have tried to come open with a handshake of friendship but have gotten targeted needlessly.

You are still better in managing your media. In our case, our media has Indian anchors (english and hindi channels) but are totally sponsored and owned by western media houses. That's something we have to change and with democracy it will take some time.

Anyway, you have them in your fist in the Asian Development Bank.

Use their tactics against them. :D

.
Sadly I must say you are right, western media has achieved its objective.

By the way I try my best to quote non western news source as you can see in my post above. The chinese mostly quote US sources and regard it as the absolute truth.

But yes this must stop.

Well truth is, we all live in a west dominated world. So its understandable you all rely on our media to know yourselves/other countries. No shame in admiting that.:)

Truth is you all should blame yourselves, instead of always laying the blame on the 'imperialistic west'. Funny enough, as i said on another thread, we in general are quite tolerant towards you Asians than even you Asians among yourselves, i can attest to this bduring my many travels in Asia. for example you will see many westerners on here(well, the few we have on here) congratulating/wishing the best to India or China when they ahieve/do something commendable. But you will hardly see other of your 'Asian brothers' do the same, especially when it involves those from your Asian adversaries/rival countries e.g filipinos, vietnamese,, Indians will hardly do so towards China, and Chinese, Pakistanis, Bengladeshis, etc will hardly do so towards India etc etc.... In short your biggest ennemy is yourselves not us. hihihihihihihihihi.....:enjoy:

Yes, how could Hindus who worship Devi (Goddess) harm women's chastity ?? Just western media out to defame India because of their jealousy of this beautiful civilization. Shining India :D

What a piece of shit you are and to think that you are from the diplomatic corps representing India in other countries. Hope the govt fires your ***. Mostly projecting your sickness on to the Indian society, huh. The way you run down your wife always on this forum.

For every Jyothi Singh, there are millions of Indian women who have not had their intestines pulled out. Or perhaps you only see corpses walking on Indian street.

Stop burying your head in the sand like the Pakistani members here. Either be an ostrich or a man. You can't be both. My job training teaches me to identify a problem and to speak out against it. Fortunately for you, your government doesn't gag it's representatives. If India has to progress then Indians must identify their social ills and not just their economic shortfalls. And stop talking through your rear about my other posts. They are mostly based on sarcasm. My post on this thread however is based on reality. Wake up and smell the coffee or else remain like Alice in Slumberland. That is your choice

Are you one of those Indian secularists/liberals/etc.? :P

He is a Bengali. What more, to our eternal shame, he works for Indian foreign office and is representing India in Zimbabwe. For the longest time I wondered who gives India such a bad name. You have scum like him to thank for. They fill up the diplomatic corps and foreign services looking down their brown noses on the rest of Indians as if bearing a burden civilizing us.

Yup, it is Indian civilization that is beautiful and that is being digested by the West, whether it be yoga or curry or saris or bindis or even the wedding rituals. Indians still cling on to their civilization and value it. It is the West that is copying India while at the same time trying to tear it down.

Paksitanis are singled out on terrorism issues having raised and propagated jihadi forces. Are you saying that Indian moms and schools and govt raise Indians to rape women? I cannot help it if your mouth functions as your rear and poop out abuses for your wife day in and day out. You are reality are as far apart as antipodes. Neither you know India nor are you qualified to talk about it.

I am a Bengali ?? Just by that sentence you made a total cake of yourself. Not that I have anything against Bengalis. Yes, the educated and civilized will identify problems in their country and speak out against it. No sugar coating. We also warn travelers seeking our advise to be wary as women traveling alone in India. Unfortunately for you, that is a decision made by your government and implemented accordingly. So stop bashing the media whether western or eastern for pointing out the reality in India. Accept the reality and deal with the problem.

Over 90% Indian women feel safe travelling in India: Survey | Latest News & Updates at Daily News & Analysis

"This year is the seminal year for solo women travellers. We have been tracking a fair rise in this segment in the last four years, but the big spurt up to 10 per cent, will be witnessed in 2015, for the first time. This jump will significantly alter the tourism in India," HolidayIQ Founder and CEO Hari Nair said.

Even as the incidents of crime against women are on the rise in India, around 94% young Indian women feel safe to travel in the country, a recent survey showed.

"Around 94 per cent of young women in the age group of 18-24 in India feel that travelling in India is safe," according to a survey by HolidayIQ.

The sense of security was also 92%, among women in age bracket of 25-34 years, followed by 79% among women between 35-44 years, 87 per cent in age group of 45-54 and 47 per cent in 55-64 years, it said.

HolidayIQ conducted the survey among 20,000 women across the country.

He said women travelling solo will boost the domestic tourism industry just as couple travellers did in the last decade through the concept of weekend getaways and jungle lodges across.

"Meanwhile, the tourism industry must note, when women plan a holiday, they spend 15 per cent more than men. Not wanting travel to be an extension of the family, independence and the exposure that comes with it, has led to the rise of the solo woman traveller," he added.

When it comes to location, 92 per cent respondents said Mumbai is the safest among all cities to travel solo, followed by by Bangalore (83%), Kolkata (76%), Hyderabad (75%) and Chennai where 74 per cent women responded said it is safe for women to travel alone.

About 71 per cent women feel safe travelling in Delhi, the survey showed.

Beaches and hill stations are mostly considered safe destinations by women, with 60 per cent preferring beach and hill station holidays.

Rise in Solo Travel Amongst Indian Women: TripAdvisor Survey 2015

New Delhi, Delhi, India
  • Delhi tops the chart third year in a row as the most unsafe city for women travellers with 95% votes

  • Ahmedabad retains the title of the ‘safest city’ for women travelers with 91% votes followed by Pune (90%). Mumbai dislodges Bangalore to claim #3 spot with 88% votes

  • 47% respondents said travelling solo gave them the freedom of doing whatever they wanted; 39% said they liked theindependence and challenge of travelling on their own

  • Indian solo women travellers rank higher than their global peers on the sense of adventure (22% India vs 9% globally) and confidence (22% India vs 15% globally) they get from their travel

Just ahead of the International Women’s Day, TripAdvisor®, the world's largest travel site revealed the findings from its annualWomen Traveller Survey 2015, collected from 1300 female respondents in India1. The survey, now in its third year is aimed at understanding the travel sentiment and preferences of Indian women while travelling solo or as part of an all-women group. For the first time this year, the survey draws comparison across 9 other geographies apart from India that include Australia, US, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Russia and Southeast Asia. 10,481 female travellers participated in the survey globally (including India).

According to Nikhil Ganju, Country Manager, TripAdvisor IndiaIt is encouraging to see an increasing number of Indian women travellers planning solo travel despite the challenges that confront them. Also, it appears that lesser Indian women now perceive travelling alone in India as unsafe (only 11% this year versus 33% last year). However, foreign destinations are still perceived to be safer with only 1% of Indian women indicating nervousness about travelling alone abroad. Clearly, much needs to be done by way of perception management as well as actual safety measures on the ground, for Indian women to feel safer in their own country, and for them to continue to pursue their desires to travel solo freely and confidently.

More The Merrier – Travelling In A Group

In addition to solo travel, women’s getaways i.e. women travelling in groups are also popular amongst Indian women. Out of the 40% who polled that they travel in a group, majority say they have been on such trips because “they want to re-connect with their friends” (56%) and “they enjoy visiting cultural, arts attractions and doing the same things on a holiday” (51%). 36% disclosed such trips gave them “a break from family life”.

When holidaying with friends, staying in hotel chains is the most popular choice of accommodation (67%) for such trips.
