Well, firstly rape per capita in India is far far less than most developed European country.

Per 100,000 rape in:

India is 1.4
UK is 28.8
Sweden is 63.5
Germany is 9.4
Belgium 27.9
France is 16.2

BUT they will come to India and make documentaries about our rape 'culture'. Why all of a sudden rape. Well before this it was slums and poverty. Before that it was a land of snake charmers. But there is a sustained anti India capaign in the west.

Why? Because they cannot digest the fact, that India, a former colony, is now one of the fastest growing economies. 4th strongest military with nuclear weapons. Rockets which cover all of Europe.

We all know about the recent German professor, so I will be focusing on Germany in this post but its the same for all of Europe.

In the past 10 years Indian companies have been the largest from the developing world to aquire German companies. That means we are the largest employment providers to Germans in Germany from the developing world. There are 10a of thousands of Germans working for us Indians. Now think, how must that hurt their ego. The superior white race working for us lowly dark barbarians. We provide then their daily bread, their pay cheque.

But in the case of India the evidence is extremely visible that they want to degrade our image. Just look at the UN provided international rape statistics. India has one of the lowest per capita rape in the world but they call us the rape capital while their own country has big paedophilia problem and rape case 20-30 even 50 times that of Indias.

Why do we get so worked about what the "west" thinks. Moreover, this obsession with the west's approval (or disapproval) robs the real issue of its due attention.

Rape statistics for India are not credible. There is vast under-reporting of these instances as it is common practice to blame the victim and family. Case in point, the interview of the defence lawyers in the Nirbhaya case.
