The real Seoul story: At the NSG plenary, China behaved not as an enlightened power

Well sir, we Indians have multiple "opinions" on multiple things, unlike some countries where having a different opinion means you will vanish without a trace.

You lot don't even have opinions, except one parroted by some guy in a room and you recite it all over.
Good luck with that ;)

If you think we all have the same opinion, you have obviously never met a Chinese person before.

And who has the number 1 supercomputer is not an opinion, it is a fact. Do you know the difference?

Do you know the difference between Facts vs opinions?

I know for a "fact" all your "opinions" are manufactured. It's more like "what happens in China stays in China".

And what that Indian said pertains to future, He is entitled to his opinion of the future, just like you or anyone else here are. What is going happen in future is not a "fact" unless and until that has come to pass.

Whether India achieves it's goal of being what this person claims is moot. Point is, you and your "friend" were having a back and forth "bro" moment trashing a country.

So, please don't mind when some one gives it back ;)

What happened to the Pakistani application. .The poor souls are reduced to celebrating that India didn't get through.

That's not funniest aspect. That was the most ironic aspect.

Pakistan had two goals. India had one.

Pakistani goals
1. To get into since India is also trying to get into it
2 If number 1 is not possible then make sure that India at least doesn't get into NSG

India had one goal

1 To get into NSG

Now at least Pakistan can safely claim success in its second goal. Meanwhile for India, this butthurt blogs explains the whole story.

So who is the sore loser now my butthurt Indian friend?? Don't forget to throw away your Made in China cellphone while would be answering me.

India’s membership application to the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) was a real possibility during the Seoul plenary session, but the consensus developed for a process for all non-signatories to the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty (non-NPT) countries instead, says the outgoing chair of the NSG.

He also countered comments by the Chinese lead negotiator Wang Qun, who claimed that India’s membership had never been “on the agenda” and wasn’t discussed. Asked if India’s application had been discussed, Mr. Grossi replied, “Yes, it was.”

Confirming an earlier report in The Hindu that he had been appointed as a “facilitator” to the new NSG Chair from Switzerland, Mr. Grossi said that his appointment to speak to all 48-member countries to try and bring a consensus to the debate over non-NPT states like India was a “significant” step forward.

For a country that its highest leadership could have "opinions" such as "India will be a superpower by 2012" or "Mumbai will surpass Shanghai by 2009" which have celebrated as "facts" , there is no much difference between "opinions" and "facts". Critical thinking is virtually absent to many of its citizens.

Come on, dear Indian friends
Even though i've been consistently behind you guys regarding your "PRESTIGE NSG" dream
I must say its NOW or NEVER, "STOP sugarcoat your NSG FAILURE" by using CHINA as your "SCAPEGOAT"
You may earn more "RESPECT" that way
MAN UP or SHUT UP......ASAP :smitten:
From your sincere "biggest NSG bidding FAN"

China has spent a LOT of its International capital ; influence and prestige
in just trying to stop India

India's membership process has gained traction ; has moved forward

We will keep going at this ; we have nothing to loose

The more China opposes us ; it will look .........................

Basically, India sold their sovereignty to America by agreeing to sign the CISMOA/LSA which would allow American troops to operate out of Indian soil, in exchange for the NSG seat.

do you even know what is CISMOA/LSA ?

India, US agree on logistics agreement, to be signed in a month - The Hindu

But they seriously overestimated America's ability to deliver the NSG seat. As they found out recently.

It seems India has no idea of what "veto power" means. It means we can shut it down anytime, for any reason. In fact we don't even need to give a reason.

India paid out of their nose for US support, but they did not give a similar payment to us, so they didn't get anything in return.

Mark my words. We shall get into NSG whether you like it or not. We are now too big to be stopped by you. You at the most delay our entry but can not stop us if we wish to be a part of NSG. Modi has rattled you guys very much and he shall continue to annoy you. We shall get into P5 also.

India since independence in 1947 to now, has been relying on a lie. To split into 100 pieces of India, is the real India.

Replace India with China in your post and u will get the more realistic scenario for future..

psst...most dictatorship don't last long enough, where as democracies flourish ;)

That is exactly he fails to understand. whether we being in NSG or out of NSG does not affect our strategic interest. China is in NSG yet isolated. They can not expect the same cooperation from other technologically advance country as India get. China is loosing its important very fast. The countries which were scarred of china once are showing their eyes to china now. China's economic strategic power as well as its Aura is fading now. It shall be marginalized very soon.

Agreed that China does spent whatever you've mentioned to stop India's NSG bid only or everything as you're hinting, whether a "LOT" or not, its debatable at best
Perhaps one need to understood in today's international stage, Country's influence or actions has to be back up by "military, economy" strength" or BOTH
And China happened to be an economic powerhouse with a "BIG POCKET and plenty of military firepower to its disposal
Whether you like it or not, India will not get the NSG club admission without China's support period
OR of course you can still has the option of keep "DREAMING" as usual
