There are almost no cats now and since the lock-down began, decrease in pollution too. So why hasn't the bird population returned ?

It's been quite a few years since my cats died ( killed ). Why still no birds, except crows ??

You mean a "terrorizer of dogs" ?? Yes, that I sort of was actually some years ago. I used to snipe at the strays in my part of my locality with an air rifle. I even got BBC World Service Radio to do a 11 minute spot on the problem called stray dogs. A BBC reporter came to my city and did a one-day interview and reportage on this and edited it to 11 minutes and broadcast it on a specific program.

Except that there are still 4 cats in our household and they consume more fish on a daily basis(not these days though) than either of us do..

Ah. My father daily used to bring chicken "chichde" ( offal ) for our three baby cats.

Why do you dislike crows? You don't know enough about them, i suppose.

We feed chicken, mutton and pork meat to our dogs and raw bones as treats. Cats won't touch them, fish only for them. Cat food in our culture in Eastern and NE India is fish.

They are noisy, act like dog packs. And cats dislike them too.

Next time, check the reaction of a cat to a crow on the tree. The cat will emit a tensed, trembling kind of sound.

Perhaps they are warning the flock as the cats are trying to KILL them!

No, crows are forever noisy and many times in packs.

When cats see them on trees ( even one crow ) it is only the cats who react. The crows don't react.

It is not like in the jungle where some type of tree-bound birds or monkeys make noise to warn a group of deer of an approaching big cat.
