The US and Pakistan are just as committed to this war on terror today, as they were at the very beginning. Both nations have passed the test of time and continue to move forward knowing there is work to be done. At times people applaud our actions and at times we face the brunt of criticism. But the ultimate goal of both nations is to defeat terrorism and have a region free and clear of terrorist activities.

South Waziristan is home to a large number of militants in the country. One project aims to stabilize the area by discouraging people from joining the militants. The construction of a highway is underway, and it is expected to be completed by 2013.The project will not only boost the economy but also offer new opportunities by connecting the region with the major cities of Pakistan as well as Afghanistan. 81 million dollars in funds will be made available soon, with most of it coming from the US. The idea behind the project is that it will bring prosperity and wealth to the area, and people will opt for opportunities and better their life. According to Zahid Raja, spokesmen for the army’s construction and civil engineering wing, “When the economy prospers, mindsets change. When there is opportunity for business and commercial activities, people focus on that and less on violence. That is how there is an overall impact on security.”

Dear readers, the facts remain for us to determine the truth. Taliban and their counterparts burn schools and attack children, while the US is helping to build schools and create jobs in the region. Taliban’s dream is to suppress the region under their extreme totalitarian regime, and our nations are hard at work in thwarting that agenda. We will continue to work together for the betterment of our nations, and our commitment to this war on terror will not end until the region is free and clear of terrorism.

Maj David Nevers, I really hope you belong to Centcom, & that you show these posts of yours to the respective US authorities. The lies & baseless propaganda from them against Pakistan results in a lot of mistrust between the two nations.

Lets not forget the fact that these AQ and T were created, armed, funded and trained by the USA. And then used as a bargaining chip to cohere Pakistan into this useless WOT.

Sir,

You need to have a better game plan than the old story being repeated over and over-----if you faile dfirst---what makes you think you will succeed again.

The reason you fail is that you are not talking to the pakistanis in the language they understand-----you, basically have no one who can directly talk to the pakistanis in their own language---the language the understand the best----.

You are talking---but they are not listening---they are talking---and you are not listening---. For how long can this charade continue---. Only if the american public was a little more intelligent and and vociferous and the common sense to understand what is happenig----but all this common sense has been buried in the war between christianity and islam----. It has become more of a war between evangilist christianity and islam---that fool Osama Bin Laden had no clue what he was doing----.

What is "success" in this case -- Osama is dead, his AQ considerably diminished - So, What's success? May be if we all knew what success was we may could possibly get behind the idea

But I thought success for you was to blame everything on Pakistan? Also, I doubt you will get a response from the CENTCOM bot.
