The Path Out of Pakistan's Economic Crisis

.,.,,

4. All Government houses & govt cars to be finished,
5. All leases of Agricultural land to be finished. No patta system in agriculture
6. Open trade with India .
7. Start work on Turkmenistan-Afghan-Pakistan- India gas pipeline .
8.Haj, Umra Ziarat only by a taxpayer above 10 million .
Foreign travel in business class only for taxpayers above 10 million
9. No dual nationality for any govt. servant.
10. Compulsory closure of markets by 6 pm.
11. Abolish farcical transactions in the name of Islamic banking.
12. Apply Article 140A of local bodies.
13. Close FBR & empower PRAL, send employees of FBR on leave till retirement after keeping relevant in PRAL .
14. Abolish police, DMG and housing and place the same under Local Governments .
15. All military cants to be shifted away from cities .

Financial emergency means acceptance of basic agenda as laid down above and no tinkering by people off and on. It means a consistent, pro Pakistan pro poor plan for 15 years. and Rationing at 50% rate if atta, lentils, sugar, rice, edible oil & tea.

All good ideas. Some more urgently needed to save foreign exchange:
1. No imported fuel for private transport except in case of doctors and other lifesaving purpose. Everybody else uses public transport or bicycle or walks.
2. Encourage everyone to plant Victory gardens and grow their own vegetables and fruits in backyard and unused public lands. Keep chickens, stock all ponds and lakes/reservoirs/tanks with fish. Eventually, no foreign currency should be spent on imported food. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victory_garden
3. Replace imported LPG/natural gas for cooking with local coal. Develop good stove designs to burn coal and agricultural and forest waste.

Looks pretty hi-tech for a woodstove. Can it burn coal? Coal is harder to burn than charcoal but gives more heat.

I saw a FB video of it burning coal as well. Coal can be added after a good fire is established. The bigger one has a small blower inbuilt. Can't seem to find the video now.

Strong institutions and accountability are the fundamentals for everything else.

With this in place, corruption, government inaptitude, "guidance from above" (those in power need to lead the way, this is usually the case in every transformation whether economic, social or political - in families we see this microorganism as well where absent fathers = broken families often), and elites in power can be held accountable by the people and measured accordingly by their success or failures.

This in turn gives rise to the necessary political, economic and social stability that a country needs in order to thrive and develop.

The recipe is not really that complex but it requires a complete reset in how "Pakistan is setup" which those in power (neutrals) and their political and business elites/henchman are not interested in, as they would then lose their power completely if those running Pakistan were adhering to actual principles of meritocracy and not the nepotism that is running Pakistan.

A quick search tells me there are many small brands available in India, with and without chimneys. Surprisingly even without chimney ones (small ones) are also smokeless. You may also find chinese made ones from Alibaba. Found a lot of research papers, but paid ones.

Try energypedia for more info.

At those prices (less than $20), you have an excellent export market. A million stoves can be sold internationally easily by word of mouth. I will buy one, even at $50, just for the fun of cooking over wood.

This is a lahore made wood stove. A little crude and expensive though.
