The Path Out of Pakistan's Economic Crisis

The problem is much more deep than what do you suggest so you can take economic decision only when the people supported it. When the petrol prices were very high people in Pakistan , expect government to not raise prices. This is fundamental problem. Let me compare when prices in Indian was Rs.90 a liter minimum Pakistan was selling for Rs.50 a litter in Indian rupees. So if you are going to collect so little tax on patrol plus tax collection overall is so bad. How can you fix an economy? That is time when market is normal across the world and there are times when market is tough.
No government has the courage to bring economy’s policies in the tough market which normal market will even need.

Net net bina tax diye kuch nahi hota. People talk as if any policy will bring tax collection from somewhere else, but they’re not going to pay taxes that’s the whole thing and this is fundamentally flawed.

Loans are never wrong as long the utilization of funds brings a steady and consistent Net Profit.

Loans for development projects are fine. Loans to repay old loans and to patch up gaping holes caused by structural deficiencies that are never fixed in not.

It's a bitter pill which is why the politicians (never fiscally conservative) and the hapless sheep don't want to understand IMF programs. There are many examples in SE Asia and Europe that have stuck with the IMF programs to recover their economies for the long term.

We are on something like the 12th IMF program and not one has been completed by this godforsaken country.

12? The number now is 22 (Twenty-two). And Pakistan has never completed any one of them. That alone tells anyone with even half a brain a lot.

Pakistanis deserve these leaders. This nation is rotten to the core, I see ordinary citizens commit corruption every single day here.
Nice way to blame the victim, the corrupt citizens are simply a victim of the society around them which was created and shaped by those same leaders. They resort to corruption as they view it as the only way to move forward and succeed. Of course, It is NEVER the fault of the corrupt leaders but always the fault of the public who are subjugated by such scum.

Yup. That's why I said utilization of funds; as you mentioned on projects.

My DP is the only path out of economic crisis.
The people who are supposed to put them to gallows are bribed into their sides.

The judge jury and executioner are one. The perdition which the nation is suffering calls for a sea change.

Pakistan's problem is macroeconomics and miss management.
the issue is IPPs which started in the 90s after that no government built any new dam nor did they try to get self-independent on the power supply. Hence circular debt is always rising
Similarly, our import bill ballooned like no tomorrow. It is almost touching 80 billion dollars. How come a nation will survive with a luxury of 80 billion in imports in contrast to 20 billion dollars in exports?
Regarding tax, Pakistani people are the highest tax-paying people in the world from a pencil to a plane we are paying taxes on everything.

The people elected these bastards. As far as those who weren't elected by the public, the public could have overthrown these people if they wanted. You can still see tens of millions of Pakistanis proudly defending the likes of the Sharif family, Zardari, ZAB and Fazal-ur-Rehman.

Good point. That is one of the thing that ModiGee has consistently got right. He has a got a lot of lampooning from his critics- they used to make memes of how much more expensive petrol was in IND compared to SL and PAK.

1. Political stability & continuity required
2. Tax the rich, partcularly the real estate mafia and abolish feudalism. Make those lands agri and industrial parks
3. Energy is our biggest import - buy cheap oil and gas from Russia in currency other than the dollar
4. Encourage investment in railway projects. Make people use public transport to save on fuel and protect against climate change.
5. Privatize some sectors to encourage competition.
6. Create an effective strategy and scheme to tackle population growth. Perhaps make women more inclusive in economic sphere.

Start taxing real estate. And allow municipalities to raise revenue through property tax.
