The palace of shame that makes China angry

.
Why China can not use it's economic muscle to get back these looted items?

. .
Good that these stuff are kept elsewhere other than China. Mao's red guards will likely smash them into pieces. China should send a thank you note to UK for preserving these heritage.
Such museums are full of loot gather from all around the world. You are suggesting the looters should be thanked for all that loot that they have gathered from all around the world?

China case is a bit special. If others can protect their artifact, then it make UK to be in the wrong. In China case, things are not so black and white.

So, in your silly reasoning, China was destined to become communist so that you have a playing field to bash China? Also, the destruction of the palace by the Brits was ok, because they have saved some artifacts till today?

You should send all your money to me as i will preserve your heritage before one day you might have alzheimer and flush all your cash down the toilet. You may now thank me for protecting your wealth.

Didn't you know that the Brits have supernatural power such as clairvoyance? When they destroyed the palace, all they had in mind was that they will save valuable Chinese artefacts that 100 years later would have been destroyed by evil commies. So considered of them, those benevolent opium dealers.

:agree:

Shame? we have already burried the war in history. Shame is on the invaders.
Angry? We have been keeping this in our minds and records and not until it is resurfaced for academic discussions, memorial days, monuments /museum visits or for film productions, no one in China is fretting over this 24/7
Again, not forgetful, not hateful but keeping calm and keeping ourselves vigilent to prevent the repeat of history

Also, I think the Egyptians are doing something to recover their looted treasures
We are progressing very slowly but instead of waging wars for the recovery, we are actually repossessing them from donations and auctions over the years

This is just one case, we don't care so much, but there are many other things that make Chinese angry.

A Thief is a thief. Now or a thousand years ago.
What happened during the cultural revolution does not make them a saint. How do you know that the red guards would destroy the summer Palace, which would have been made into a Museum like the forbidden Palace which was left intact.

What else would they say....next it would be that Britain's selling opium was a good thing.

China did!

Is it better for this guy to be still around? Now it is gone and if this Buddha is being looted by UK, it is still there.

I am not saying UK is good, but one must reflect the shit of one's own race.

BOTH looting and destroying are bad. Maybe the British should steal the Tag Mahal. Who knows 100 years down the road it could be destroyed.

And noone is saying cultural revolution is good.
