Ever since 2004, thousands of civilians, soldiers, policemen, politicians and militants have been killed in extremist terror attacks and retaliatory military operations and US drone strikes.

Interesting. It's just my opinion as an outside observer but really, if Pakistan does not define itself as an Islamic state, then what was the point of separating from India?

fear of democracy! in 1937 congress was in power and Muslims were victim of worst communal clashes .. It was feared that majority of Muslims would suffer under the rule of Hindus..

fabulous work... let me leave the tendency to comment on the transition post 2005. WHat i also see here is that our two countries have such a similar looking past and the absolutely moderinstic lifestyle of Pakistan that existing in 1960s and 70s, that many outside of pakistan are not even aware of... great stuff
