The next man on the moon may well be Chinese

I'm not talking about USSR putting man on the moon. I'm talking about their overall achievement in space. The USSR probably had put a man on the moon had Korelov not died.

You can never speculate the alternative history.

Since the USSR never succeeded in the Moon landing mission, there it doesn't count as one like the USA.

is it really a reason to send people to the moon and waste money now, when Americans 40 years ago took more than enough research material back from the moon?

i dont see any reason other than flexing with space muscles...

still, best of luck to China!

BTW, to claim the number one the space program, you have to be the first one who accomplishes the Mars landing mission.

Give that silly argument a rest. You obviously do not have enough engineering education and knowledge of history to keep on spouting this nonsense.
Deny all you want, butthurt all you want, america's success in moon landing is just a result of sheer luck of grabbing the most brilliant group of Nazi scientists; even any African country can go to the moon had they were able to grab those Nazi scientists :argh:

Well, America was still technologically superior to USSR, since it was economically superior.

Even our dear comrade Khrushchev did admit this fact. :coffee:

Didn't Khrushchev say he was going to bury the west ? Speaking economically and scientifically.

This was only a political/ideological boasting.

In a private conversation with Chairman Mao, he openly did admit that the US was technological ahead by a decade over the USSR.

USSR did have it's best period under Khrushchev economically, still the ussr spend like at 40 % of it's economy on Military and Space to catch up with the west and still failed.

Their economy went the stagnation during the late era of Brezhnev.

But i would say that none of the Soviet leaders were really competent after Stalin.

China's first attempted Taikonaut

Legend has it Wan Hu minor Chinese official of the Ming dynasty and the world's first "astronaut".
"Early in the sixteenth century, Wan decided to take advantage of China's advanced rocket and fireworks technology to launch himself into outer space. He supposedly had a chair built with forty-seven rockets attached. On the day of lift-off, Wan, splendidly attired, climbed into his rocket chair and forty seven servants lit the fuses and then hastily ran for cover. There was a huge explosion. When the smoke cleared, Wan and the chair were gone, and was said never to have been seen again."

Or simply he might have just exploded with the chair :D

Yeah, this guy should still be remembered as a legend even his action was silly.

However, there is no person in today got the gut like him. :D

the Rocket was first invented by Chinese, actually some study shows most of the modern technology can be traced back to ancient China.

i want to make it very clear to everyone here, China dont have manned moon mission in hand, all these story is pure speculation of the Chinese nationalist and foreign media that intend to spread Yellow Peril theory.

If the next man on the moon is a Chinese, the chinese fanboys here will be claiming the ownership rights of the Sea of Tranquility just like South China Sea and after a few years or maybe sources quoting the Sinonauts, we will hear how they found the remains a rocket fired by the Hans to the moon in the 15th Century so all the moon actually belongs to the Hans and then a Chinees THONK TONK will suggest that the next country which sends a man to the moon should be attacked.

:woot:

amen to that!!!!!!
