It is simply imperative for the U.S. and Pakistan to remain unified for the betterment of the region’s security and stability. Our nations have been dealing with various conspiracy theories and challenges since the beginning of our alliance, but our shared will and desire to promote peace and stability throughout the region continues to bind us together. Our officials have been meeting regularly to discuss any shared concerns and to build on our improving relationship. COAS General Raheel held a meeting with Commander Resolute Support United States Forces in Afghanistan General John F Campbell recently and discussed Pakistan and Afghan border coordination and the overall security situation in the region.

We recognize that Pakistan continues to face the wrath of terrorism. The enemies of peace remain fully focused on destabilizing the country. The Pakistani security forces are working hard to counter the growing threat of terrorism, and we have full confidence in their ability to restore peace in the country.
We restate what the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said regarding the recent attack in Karachi: “I strongly condemn the heinous May 13 attack on a bus in Karachi, which resulted in the deaths of dozens of members of the Ismaili community. The American people stand in solidarity with the people of Pakistan, and with the global Ismaili community on this tragic day. Make no mistake: There is more strength by far in the respect and solidarity that we feel towards one another than there could ever be in any terrorist attack.”
Please feel free to share any suggestions in regards to what else the U.S. and Pakistan should do collectively to address our shared concerns in the region.
