The National Power Index ranking (Top 20 militaries)

What I'm trying to say is that you should take care of your children who are dying of starvation by the 100,000s instead of dreaming of becoming UNSC member.
i believe all these numbers are highly exagerrated i live in india i don't millions of children dying of starvation, 50% people defecating in open, caste discrimination, 50% people live below poverty line, 50 % are illetrates etc etc etc they are all BS

National Power scores are the product of an index combining the weighted factors of GDP, defense spending, population, and technology. Scores are calculated by the International Futures computer model and are expressed as a state’s relative share (percentage) of all global power.

The forecast of these values is hosted by the Google Public Data Explorer. Graphs for any country and some regional groupings can be produced to 2060 for the International Futures Base Case or scenarios produced for the United Nations Environment Programme Global Environmental Outlook 4.

.
I try not to generalise but after coming on this thread. I have to say Pakistani people as a group are contradicting.

First they make a thread about how India will be one of the most most powerful countries by 2050, then as always they give it a religious touch like Muslim countries, Christian countries (although most of them are secular countries) and Non Abrahmic countries and then they say 'Don't get your Indian hopes up' and make fun of less fortunate people.

Haters gonna hate. India continues to progress with full pace. Whether you like it or not India will be up there.

By the way Voldemort UNSC seat doesn't actually matter that much.

India - 2nd largest country population wise
- 3rd Biggest economy in terms of PPP
- 4th most powerful armed forces

If this country is not represented in UNSC then you can think about the credibility of that forum. UNSC can hardly get any resolution passed these days.

Any resulation backed by West would be vetoed by Russia and China, And resolution backed by either Russia or China would be vetoed by west and any resolution against Israel would be vetoed by America. So what's the point? Does it really matter if India's one of these countries?

If anything it would be difficult for India as it would clearly have to choose between west and Russia and China?

hahah he is pakistani

. .
why not ranking Korea before China, Japan, and India, this thread is offending our member Korean.

.
Ok how many people here think India as "stronger" or "more powerful" than Russia as a nation state? Seriously?

Quick question.. What is the ranking projections from today to 2050 based on?? What in the given socio-econo-politico environment justifies Pakistan's move from 17th to 7th position.. I mean except wishful thinking.. ???

.
i believe all these numbers are highly exagerrated i live in india i don't millions of children dying of starvation, 50% people defecating in open, caste discrimination, 50% people live below poverty line, 50 % are illetrates etc etc etc they are all BS

If the real numbers come out, 99% of NGOs would have to close their shops [running NGO is actually profitable than running a business]. So there will always be some or the other "Independent International Agency" coming out with "real figures" to help them out which they are more than happy to accept.

Even I am amazed :P
Even Japan is rated so high .. Their military is fully dependent on USA

.
kk this rankinghas beeen done on the basis of technology , strength, population, economy and future economic growth and rising world order.

now pakkistan has be shifted up, seeing their potential and they truly have the potential, one must agree. but coming up to 7th is only possible is they are growing at 7% every year with no wars, coups and instability, which is practically impossible for nxt 15 yrs.

when these ranking were made they prolly thought pak can prolly sustain high growth rates but now their growth is below 2.5%. even that 2.5% is coming from agriculture not investments. its basically absymal growth.

i woudl rather focus on nigeria and bangladesh right now. they are truly rising nxt 11 countries and nxt growth tigers.

Okay jee... ur own choice... Although I have invested all my money in Pakistan yet i haven't seen dissappointing results for me

I have hardly seen anyone defecating in the open ..
I accept that people do but I don't think that number is even 5% .. I am basing this with my experience in Maharashtra .
I myself used to live in a small town

Caste discrimination is just on paper ..
It is most highly exagerrated thing just to win voters by giving reservations , blah blah
Being a Muslim I never got discriminated .. Just thinking about Hindus getting discriminated is lolzz

Our literacy rate is already above 70% officially .

.
i believe its unnecessary to compare any of the nuclear weapons states with each other you could have a unmanned tank with IFF that launches rockets automatically at any enemy aircraft infantry or ground vehicles but it still won't do anything to a nuclear warhead hell even Pakistan ranks poorly on the defense spending and GDP categories but compared to Brazil they can pounce on them anytime since they have the ability to deploy nuclear warheads.
