The Nano-Diamond Battery That Lasts For 28,000 Years

Anything in the lab needs some common sense of use and scaling. What will you do with a phone whose battery lasts for 28000 years? Will you use that phone for the rest of your life? Same goes for cars and other electronics. The batteries will outlast the product by 27990 years.

Anyway. Tesla will be introducing solid state batteries which could end up easy to produce and safer. Thats the requirement right now. Next step is to replenish that battery again with the least amount of wastage.

There is the under-development VASIMR which is a plasma propulsion engine that can supposedly allow Earth to Mars travel in 39 days. This engine requires lot of power which perhaps can be generated by a big enough variant of this diamond battery

When it comes to space travel or interstellar travel einstein's theory of relativity still holds so we have few challenges
1) How to get energy for an engine to travel between stars options are solar energy but it will start diminishing further we go from the star what will happen when travelling between solar systems, nuclear possible but limited due to inherent risk of radioactivity, size constraints, how much fission/fusion mass will be required? plasma is one option but it raises challenges of new metallurgy techniques due to temperature, and how much reaction mass can be carried by any space vehicle, NDB or nano diamond batteries can solve the problem, however there is another way and that is gravity, gravity waves have been proven, every celestial body generates gravity which travels in the form of waves, "theoretically" I say again "theoretically" these waves could be harnessed as an energy source, also every celestial body has its own resonance so we factor in the both. A space travelling vehicle which can focus on a particular resonance and harness gravity waves emanating from that body could travel toward it. So this is theoretically possible but let see.

2) second challenge is speed with which space travel will be done, when an airplane is travelling at a fast speed vertically upwards/downwards or laterally (particularly a war plane) there is special equipment for the pilot because he is facing multiple "gravities" human body is used to 9.8m/s2 gravity when we increase the gravitates human body comes under pressure and if we keep increasing the speed say in a spacecraft approaching light before the speed is achieved the astronaut will become tomato paste because of the gravitates exerted on his body.

So we need a different solution and Miguel Alcubierre presented his "controversial theory on the same" although more lately a simple application is more commonly known as "reaction less engine" which I think was posted even on this forum.

This is as simple as I can do without destroying the whole physics behind.

Now too cell phone batteries can be replaced. This in the future will mean the product can be replaced but the battery is just transferred.

Nothing I have seen is pointing towards that. But obviously the objective is to build a movable container. In our lifetime we will be getting better and cheaper batteries.

Yes it does, but the other challenge carrying reaction mass, size constraints but it is one of the many possibilities.

Yes one of the theories, but if an Alcubierre which is viable is invented then all this extra weight of liquid/machinery/equipment becomes redundant because with Alcubierre you are not moving in the true sense.

Lastly, what do you think of the EmDrive ?

Another possibility "In theory, the microwaves can exert force against the walls of the chamber to produce enough thrust to propel a spacecraft once it's in space ".

I don't personally negate any idea because discovery/invention is what fine tuning of ideas and finding solutions/workarounds to roadblocks. I expect multiple possibilities fro space travel in the future.

Nuclear waste is emitting Alfa particles. This would cause helium buildup in the chip the chip will leak and radio active material will leak.

It is propriety they are not disclosing any details of how they are doing it. They are not mass producing it. not selling it. but they are announcing as if they have changed the world.
