The Nano-Diamond Battery That Lasts For 28,000 Years

. .
Unfortunately, such advancements have been killed plenty of times by big powerful entities and corporations. I don't see how this tech will survive.

. . .
Require natural air. Zero air in space

Is the air required to cool down the device or as part of the physical reaction ? This page of the company speaks about space application. Also, I will quote from the "technology" page :
Built in thermal vents: The high energy source present in the battery system produces heat during operation. This leads to thermal conduction in the system. Thermal vents in the system help conduct this process with respect to the outer surface of the diamond to keep the interiors at an optimum level.

I have no idea. I just read from the article that the device need surface contact with air for the process. But I don't think it is to cool down the device but instead the air is suppose to help in the recharging process of device.

After graphite batteries, this is one of the most interesting coming up. Still 10 years away which is sooner than we expect.

But then the "applications" page shows :
Aerospace

The human desire to explore space is fueled by the excitement of exploring the unknown. Recent advances in space technology and the rise of the first manned electric aircrafts have led to increasing demand on their battery systems, hindered by concerns regarding longevity and safety. Satellites and space vehicles rely heavily on solar power which can be disrupted by hash space environment. NDB can be utilized to power drones, electric aircrafts, space rovers and stations whilst allowing for longer activity.
How will they find air in space but also let the battery operate ?

I think if the batteries are attached to windows of the space station from inside. This way not only they will be able to arrange air (as there is artificial atmosphere inside the space station) and through the windows they will be able to arrange sun light for the device too, to change it. But all these are just thoughts. Maybe 100% wrong.

But attaching batteries to space station windows will block the view . That's a good question. I think this can be solved by attaching capsules (exterior glass side and interior side with holes for air flow to the capsule) with the exterior of the shuttle. This way the flow of air can be arranged and it won't even block the view.

Now I understand what you meant.

:-) one of the reasons no of threads started by me is very low or no of post per day averages around 2 is that instead of becoming a copy/paste bot or a one liner expert (read troll) one should speak on matters one understands and can add value to. You know what I mean.

With solar panel approaching 500 watts level, and this kind of storage along graphene high density batteries finally the world will have abundant clean energy, there are many ifs and buts however, newer research is bringing in positive results like we will soon see a fusion power plant on a much smaller scale. Science is in the right direction of trying to solve quantum realm application of which are unlimited. I have already heard about gravity powered theoretical engine, whats next is a sub-light engine and may be alcubierre drive.

Exciting times ahead that is if the stupid power hungry minds don't destroy earth first.

The vid is from 2019 so the OP news is then a progress.

Interesting thought and I think usable in other concepts but here not so. The "applications" page writes about satellites in no-air space.

The device is self-sufficient in power and does not require light to charge it.

gravity powered theoretical engine

Please say more on this but in simple words.

whats next is a sub-light engine

There is the under-development VASIMR which is a plasma propulsion engine that can supposedly allow Earth to Mars travel in 39 days. This engine requires lot of power which perhaps can be generated by a big enough variant of this diamond battery

Just wait for Elon's Battery day surprise.
