One might not be able to find the connectivity as modern education has nothing on those lines. But there has to be some truth for such a detailed description available.

Probably it got buried too deep when the light bulb of english knowledge started to shine.

Interstingly, the concepts of continents and oceans came into existence in modern geographic studies only few 100 years ago. Here we have documentations that speaks of 7 continents and 7 oceans almost 2-3000yrs ago.

As with the rest of the OP, big exaggeration. The Rg Veda does mentions areas of Pakistan but the heart of it is still situated in Haryana+Eastern UP belt.
