The Most Powerful Army That You've Never Heard Of

The issue with the Khaleeji state is whether it will allow its largely immigrant workforce integration or not. Because that remains a vital issue with the state and essentially poses a security threat to the state that makes the large military irrelevant. An organized revolt of construction workers for e.g. could have very damaging effects.

Thankfully they have made a lot of good moves in the area but the final one would be granting citizenship to the long term residents from other countries.. this would go a long way and may promote an image as the progressive state in all of Arabia.

Yeah, they can't even make a proper Insas rifle and here they are claiming that they are the third most powerful army in the world, that they control UAE with the Pakistanis and nitty picking on something as unimportant as the Op changing the thread title. I mean these damn Baniya, Yindoo, Injuns need to be benned from this forum for trolling :hitwall:

Okay !

While limited integration could be possible, citizenship is highly unlikely.

Mate, please deal with post 3, 7, 8 and 9 in this thread. They are off-topic posts, posts of no value and dare I say troll posts.

Regarding the issue of migration and integration then this is quite a complex topic that I have covered in other threads. It's not really the topic here though and I am also a proponent of reforms on that front but limited as far as I see it. A bit like the one that you see in some European countries were only the most talented foreigners and those willing to integrate will get citizenship. They should met certain criteria (Arabic language ability, knowledge of the history of the country, culture, being independent economically etc.) like is seen in most European countries nowadays.

English. Nobody here on this section understands what you are blabbering about. Ask the authors of this thread.

In general UAE is punching way above its weight on almost all fronts. Imagine that this country is the 30-29th biggest economy (out of almost 200 countries in the world) in the world and that it has a bigger economy than 80 million big Iran across the Gulf which has even more natural resources.

UAE is excelling in a lot of things. It has some of the biggest financial capitals in the world, Dubai itself is one of the 5 most visited cities on the planet, the economy is booming and it remains of utmost geopolitical importance.

From a military perspective you can easily see some of their initiatives by reading this article.

In short the UAE is punching way above its weight and this is internationally recognized.

Anyway you don't seem as a Brazilian. It was not Portuguese that you spoke there that's for sure. An Indian/Pakistani false-flagger?
UAE has its weaknesses and strengths.
Dubai though looks all glitter and glam is still recovering from recession.Expo 2020 is the only thing that made Dubai sanguine.
About the army, its good that the country has started to gear up and mandatory national service would take it one step further. I'm doubtful if it can be called powerful but I was surprised at the news that UAE would become the 3rd largest importer of defense equipment by 2015.

Posts that needed to be dealt with have been.

The citizenship and integration is an intertwined subject and is also mentioned off handedly in the opening piece.
The UAE has used a degree of internal oppression to solidify its situation in an unstable region, arresting dozens of Islamist activists, and exiling secular voices of dissent, like the once Dubai-based Arab Spring activist Iyad al-Baghdadi.

There is no guessing whether the likes of Daesh or some immigrant based "spring" might happen if there is a feeling of suppressed rights.

The Arab must equal the Ajam. Otherwise the nations will continue to have huge military forces yet be paranoid about their own internal power security.

Post 7, 8 and 9 are obvious troll posts with all due respect and against the rules. They are neither on topic and they are obviously troll posts. Not sure what they are doing here still.

This depends entirely on the long-term political visions and it is not foreseeable. Permanent residence is enough. Naturalization policies tend to be very strict in the Arab world which is good and in general and I personally prefer the Japanese model.

It is a long way to equality in a place that pays people according to their nationality for doing the same work, Sir.

Which happens everywhere on this planet. Males and women are not getting payed the same for the same positions in the West either. Nor all nationalities.

most powerful wut ? o_O

bombing a defenceless post war dump like Libya means nothing, nor does a few strikes vs ISIS

these Arabs might have a ton of money and some serious western gear but put them in a fight and I doubt they'll be any good.

for example, nukes aside, Pakistan armed forces will beat the Saudis anyday IMO

also, these guys are basically vassal states for the US and won't be allowed to enter any conflict without their master's permission.

"That you have never heard of". The two authors are not Arabs either and the article was written in Business Insider which has nothing to do with Arabs either.

Yes, the same Arabs created 3 of the 10 largest empires in the world. More than any other ethnic group in the top 10. Your ethnicity is probably not even in the top 100 in comparison.

You did not really read the article did you?

Only people with no logical ability would compare a country of 30 million people with one of almost 200 million people that has been at war for decades. Try comparing the US with Nepal next time.

Those people of those countries were not cleaning the boots of British people like your ancestors were. In fact since you are obviously obsessed about master and servant then you most know who is master and who is slave in the GCC vis a vis Arabs and Indians.:omghaha:

You are welcome.

.
Come on now.

Stronger than US? Stronger than Russia? Stronger than Turkey? Stronger than Iran? Stronger than India?

The title is a bit sensationalist from the Business Insider. The UAE is improving into a well equipped military force that will eventually form into a strong well knit unit. They might be able to compete with Israel in the sense that their military model may mirror that of Israel.. however the Israelis are a very well established, well led.. and generally well trained(with varying morale among the conscripts) and have a strong military history to back them up with a big foundation The old adage of troop strength is NOT the appropriate gauge for the 21st century.

Today's military is measured in equipment and sophistication of equipment along with training. Within that contrast the UAEAF for e.g. is much better equipped than the Iranians through and through.

.
A country of 10 million, with $14 billion budget which is 15th-highest military expenditures is definetly powerful
