Saudi Arabia is the most important country in the world for a number of factors are available only to Saudi Arabia:

First: Important strategic location where the Saudi Arabia in the heart of the world, overlooking the Red Sea to the west where most of the trade between Asia and Europe pass through and on the east overlooking the Gulf where there are two-thirds of the world's reserve of energy.

Second: Saudi Arabia has the largest oil reserves in the world, which over a quarter of the world's reserve of oil and as a result of new oil discoveries continue to Saudi Arabia on land and at sea, Saudi Arabia would still be able to maintain its oil production capacity up to 100 years to come.

Third: The religious influence of Saudi Arabia at more than 1.5 billion Muslims around the world and the existence of the holiest religious sites for Muslims, where, each year three million Muslim pilgrims visit these places and more than 5 million throughout the year performing Umrah.

Their reserves are 395 Billion USD with per-capita income of 17000USD Per-capita....They play an active role in ME political scenario and Muslim world....

i request don't fool urself around. US is the lone superpower of the world. US has all the high end weapons (military budget of $533.8 billion) along with nukes. they have all the resources in the world. space capabilities, economic might. even the mighty pakistan (being a nuclear power) surrendered to them after 9/11 (no offence). 23 % of world's gdp is contributed by america. in this world of integrated economy just cannot imagine wht will happen if US falls. i dont need to remind you what they did to afganistan and iraq after 9/11. nobody dictates terms to them. saudis are like pawn to them(no exaggeration). . due u think israeil behaves like this alone???? gets ur facts right.

The strength and superiority of a nation cannot be determined by the strength of their arms .It is determined by the education the citizens have,the economy,distribution of wealth and resources,the kind of governance they enjoy,the influence of their culture over or above others and the security of their nation.The US may not exactly have all of these but in the current world they r the ones who r atleast close enough to the above mentioned
