It's almost a first. Israel used drones on Friday to launch tear gas canisters at Palestinian protesters in the Gaza Strip. The flying machines helped disperse protesters from the "Great March of Return" - clashes with the Israeli army left at least 15 dead on the Palestinian side, this day becoming one of the deadliest of recent years in Gaza .

An AFP correspondent was able to see a drone unleashing ten tear-gas grenades at protesters. Dropped from a height of 10 to 20 meters, their fall caused several injuries among the demonstrators.

Micky Rosenfeld, spokesman for the Israeli police, assumes the use of drones, which he presents as a recent innovation. "It was used a few weeks ago around the Gaza Strip and it is also used today to prevent protesters from coming" to the border with Israel, he said."This is a mini-drone that can fly over certain areas and release tear gas in areas where we do not want protesters."

In a conflict where a party has declared hostilities and whose soldiers are killed engaging in hostilities then killing those enemy soldiers on the battlefield is legal.

By the way, the "new line" from Israel-haters today is that the fact that Israel apparently only killed hostile invaders rather than peaceful demonstrators means that these were to be condemned as "unlawful calculated killings".

I don't know about the Big Mac, but I could have sworn the other day that the marinara sauce in my Olive Garden rigatoni was arranged somewhat like a Star of David.
