The last frontier

Quantum note

One cannot ignore Afghanistan. Not only because it is next to Pakistan, but also because it is the last frontier of resistance against a near-complete re-colonization of the Muslim world. Near complete, because, in the final analysis, it is Iran, which remains to be subdued and made subservient after Afghanistan.

But the battle for Afghanistan is not over yet. And it is not going to be over in the near future, unless many centuries of history of that brave and daunting land suddenly vanishes and leaves behind a populace which has lost its soul. Short of that unlikely event, the US-led NATO forces can count on being in the rugged valleys and formidable mountains of Afghanistan for generations to come.

There is no triumph in this for either side, as each day spent on the front is exceedingly difficult for all whose lives are on the line. But as things stand, there is no sign of any recognition in Washington that the ill-fated adventure in Afghanistan is doomed; that what was started by George W Bush in the aftershock of 9/11 was the hallmark of lack of any statesmanship. The US leadership shows total lack of any public acknowledgement of links between its current economic crisis and the five billion dollars per month bill for its Afghan adventure, although one cannot assume that the "wise guys", with their heads bent on logbooks, cannot put two plus two together.

Yet, the public posture defiantly talks about the same old stuff day after day: it is the next surge that is going to route the Taliban; we are not done yet, but just give us a few more weeks or months and we will get rid of the last Talib. And all of this is justified with the convoluted and nauseating refrain: we are fighting for our security; our men are rendering heroic services for the safety of our citizens; we are bringing relief and development to the Afghans. One cannot think of any other way to understand this rhetoric than the old adage: repeat a lie long enough, and you will start to believe it.

Despite all the lies, what is abundantly clear, however, is the fact that after three centuries of siesta, the Muslim mind is waking up and in its initial rumblings there is much chaos, confusion, and violence. But it is no more asleep as it was when a few hundred British soldiers could conquer an entire continent. Today, the situation of the Muslim world is not what it was even fifty years ago when the colonizers rapidly reconstructed a web of re-colonization before departing from lands they had plundered for over two centuries.

Today, when a Sir Richard Dalton (Britain's ambassador to Iran from 2003 to 2006) stands in front of the Chilcot Inquiry and acknowledges that Tony Blair "very much exaggerated" Iran's role in supporting Al Qaeda insurgents in their attacks on British and US forces in Iraq", Muslims immediately understand the fake nature of this drama, which ultimately means nothing in real terms: Tony Blair did what he did and George W Bush did what he did not because of any "misreading" by a small man in the large picture, but because of their inbred suspicion, bordering on hatred, of Islam and Muslims.

This inbred hatred is contagious; it is built into the foundational institutions of the western civilization; it is taught and injected into young minds as soon as they start to go to school and it is perpetuated through a closely connected and mutually interdependent collusion of economic, political, and intellectual interests.

There are glimmers of light in this dark scenario: large-scale, repeated lying has made the mainstream western media unreliable and the shaking of public confidence has led to the emergence of alternate sources, the internet being the most powerful. Yet, one cannot take comfort in this small window of light in the pitch darkness; fundamental institutions of the western world (its academy, its economic structure, its cultural outlets, its opinion making agencies, its state-funding factories which produce weapons of mass-destruction) are too powerful to be taken down by a little movie, such as Restrepo or The Oath, both of which were shown to small gatherings in Europe last month. Or by a few journalists such as Robert Fisk, who said last month: "How many times have I heard western reporters talking about "foreign fighters" in Afghanistan?…But not once–ever–have I heard a mainstream western television station refer to the fact that there are at least 150,000 "foreign fighters" in Afghanistan, and that all of them happen to be wearing American, British and other NATO uniforms. It is "we" who are the real "foreign fighters".

In the final analysis, it is the battle grounds of the last frontier against western aggression where the fate of the Muslim world is being decided.

Good shot Mr FatMan,
There should be no doubt that Afghanistan is the last and in many ways the
only worthwhile frontier left.

A Taliban victory in Afghanistan will sound buzzers every where in the world
and lead to a bigger revolt against world order.

Taliban victory in Afghanistan will have the most negative effect on pakistan. Those Barbarians would like to takeover pakistan.

I dont know from your viewpoint that's good or bad.

Indians will run like a wet dog out of Afghanistan as soon as the Americans and their allies leave the country.

Talibans wont like to see - Russian-US-Israeli friends over there- India has no future in Afghanistan , Pakistan does.

we are in Afghanistan to stay, with or without Uncle sam.

Dont worry we arent there to invade Pakistan

.
I am not sure why Pakistanis are getting wet dreams here - Make no mistake - Talibans are no body pawns. You think they're Pakistan Pet dogs and will do what we want? They did not recognize Durand Line even when we were in bed in them and it was largely due to our support that they got center government in Afghanistan .Now We've gone against them so what do you think they will do?In fact even before 9/11 they were supporting us just for the sake of getting support. In their hearts we were not Islamic enough for them.Talibans should never be allowed to return to Afghanistan.
Reasons
1) They will eventually have wet dreams of taking over Islamabad and there are many right wing Pakistani traitors who will side with these scum of the earth just because they think Talibans are true Muslims onlee.
2) Taliban will invite jihadis from all over the world for training and then export them to Pakistan to fight jihad against Pakistan Army
3) They will also be dangerous for the whole world.
4) Talibans will obviously have wet dreams of taking over Islamabad and it's nuclear weapons. (Not that they can do it but it will be a huge strain on our resources as well have to fight them and regularly plan air strikes in Afghanistan)
5) They will get funding from all rich scum of the earth Saudi and other Arabic Sheiks and fake charities to export terrorism ideology to Pakistan from Afghanistan.
The best solution for Pakistan is to reconcile with democratic government of Afghanistan and all the players of Afghanistan including their politicians. That's the only way to improve relations.Playing dirty game is only going to hurt us economically.Don't be happy if Taliban kick India out because it won't be a big of a deal to India after all Pakistan is between India and Afghanistan so we will be effected where as India will prosper just like it is prospering now and we're going back to stone age thanks to largely our uber zealous policies and thinking we're super power (with a economy of just over 35-40 billion GDP) where as we were just pawns and paid the ultimate price.ITt is in the interest of Pakistan and the whole world as a whole that Talibans are silenced and there is peace in Pakistan West and in Afghanistan.India has legit role in Afghanistan and we should try to counter it with positive attitude instead of backing Talibans just for the sake of India.

^^fair analysis...lets see how many agree with your point of view.

Ahh this stew is just right !

Patriot,
tell me are you very sure that we want to recognize the so called border here.
have your forgotten the history, all the struggle that we made in the 60s and 70s.

As for the Indians staying in Afghanistan, would the Indian members like to qualify as to HOW do they think that will happen ?

Here is why I think so:

In their analysis Indians like to point out the religious extremism prevelant in Pakistan; and this is true.
They also like to point out the lack of democracy, and secular thought in running of the state.
the whole world also likes to point out that because of these local forces of anarchy Pakistan may break up.

Well, all the above reasons on which they like to base their hypothesis, these factors are 1000 times greater in Afghanistan and it is still in once piece.

Offensive as it may sound, a Pakhtoon would be more comfortable riding the world of pagans, then any thing else.

So how does that allow Indians breathing space in Afghanistan ?

LOOOOOOOOL INDIA gng to stay in afganistan???????? looooooooool ohhhh god ...... that the funnyiest thang i ever heard

.
are some guys religious fanatics or just day dreaming which can hurt pakistan too as well as afghanistan? If you are really FRIEND of afghanistan, you shouldnt pray for the victory of the taliban - no matter how much you hate america. Lets assume the taliban in Afghanistan succeds in what they want, in this case the americans will leave the region, do you think you will be able to get those financial assistance from americans in such a situation considering the fact that you will have your own fanatics who is ready to kill you more than the americans? Victory for the taliban in afghanistan will send a shockwave through the region, that victory will automatically give an unimaginable boost to the TTP and other factions in pakistan.

America will leave, but the taliban and al qaeda would be there to kill afghans as well as pakistans.

.
but the most thing that i have reconized is that how the mods are saying that the west dont like islam and muslims how they planing to attack iran? so when i opend up a thread 9 11 was an inside jon none of you supported it but only to hear ( its a conspiracy?) what FM is saying is properganda throught american eyes .... so why is it that you belive in this? it just sound like a fanboy made article or some one who is anti american
