The Guardian: Öcalan - My real role in Kurds' struggle for freedom

@Sinan

Who is that Ocalan? I have seen Kurds using his photo a lot on the internet and in real life. Last week I visited a Turkish Kurdish restaurant here in Copenhagen and they had a photo of him. I have seen him quite a few times but never knew who he was. I saw his Wikipedia page quickly and he is apparently one of the founders of PKK and is apparently partially Turkish himself.

Is he still in prison? Who is the leader of PKK now?

Abdullah Öcalan (Terrorist leader) is the founder of the PKK, and been in charge of PKK till he got captured in Kenya by Turkish Special Forces.

He was residing in Syria during Hafız Assad's time. Turkey bulked up it's military forces near the border with Syria than threatened Syria with war. So, Assad kicked him from his country he traveled some European countries and captured in Kenya.

He is still in the prison in Imralı Island and will never see outside again.

I don't know about the current leader of PKK as they change Name of the organization and leaders time to time.

@al-Hasani

I forgot to mention.

In the video, i posted.

Ocalan's first sentence to Turkish officials in the plane is "I can serve you.(to Turkish state)"

Later he says "I love Turks , my mother is also a Turk", laughable.

.
@Sinan

Thanks for that explanation.

Is PKK still attacking Turkish civilians or have they stopped doing that? Is there a military conflict right now in the Kurdish areas of Turkey or is there some kind of ceasefire now? How long will it last do you think? I mean the ceasefire if it is still intact.

Lastly why are there so many Kurds from Konya? Nearly every Kurd from Turkey here in Denmark is from Konya. Many Turkish immigrants to Denmark are Kurds I have noticed.

It was somewhat the same in Paris.

He is the Kurdish people's leader. The racist Turks on here ( mind you, far from all Turks are racists, but the ones on this forum are quite racist) will call him terrorist leader, but maybe you should ask them why their own prime minister is holding negotiations with him. Also ask them why their beolved intelligence service ( MIT) has been holding secret meetings with him for the past 5 years.

He is the only solution to the Kurdish question. Without him there can be no solution to the Kurdish question. At least not in North Kurdistan and West Kurdistan.

Also, if you want to know about the Kurds, read his books. He has written over 20 books on the Kurdish question, the origin of Kurds and our history.

Saudi Arabia has an Abdullah, and we Kurds have an Abdullah ;)

And by the way, the Kurds in Denmark are not that many. If you want to see great amount of Kurds who support PKK and Abdullah Öcalan, you should go to Germany, France and Belgium. Just for your interest though, the Kurds in Denmark, despite their small size and compared to the small percentage they make up of Kurds, are said to be the ones who donate most money to the Kurdish freedom struggle and aid organisations.

@Bahoz

Thanks for your reply but I am not fully versed in this conflict and I will not take any sides. But the ME does not need more conflicts. Turks and Kurds have to learn to fully live in peace with each other just like many other groups in the ME. The most obvious one is obviously the Palestinians and Israelis.

All I can say is that the Kurds I have known in real life - all from either Turkey or Iraq have been good people. I consider some of them as my friends.

But of course there will be bias from both sides so something like this is best written when using neutral sources.

I totaly agree with everything you said. I just wanted you to know that supporting PKK and Öcalan is very normal for Kurds. It is almost natural. You have already seen some of that support happening in real life and that is despite the fact that Denmark for a long time now has been hunting down any Kurdish activity in Denmark lately ( ie with the closure of ROJ TV). So, do not be surprised that Kurds support PKK and Öcalan even though they are listed as a ''terrorist organisation''.

But you should read about it for yourself. Do not listen to me or anyone else.

He is the Kurdish people's leader. The racist Turks on here
We hate pkk and pkk is not a race get that in your little brain, there is not a single offensive comment against Kurds from Turks in here.

Oh, and there is no country called north kurdistan, the sooner you get this the better is it for you.

PKK is the Kurds. If you hate PKK, you hate Kurds. If you hate Kurds then you must be a racist towards Kurds. It is very simple logic.

pkk illegal activities:

-Assasination

-Sabotage
-Bomb attack on civilians
-Armed attack
-Hijacking
-Chantage
-Narcotraficking
-Human traficking

No wonder pkk is listed as a terrorist organisation.

And most of these activities were initially blamed but later were found done by the turkish terror state. I have already posted numerous topics on this. Also the turkish terror state has been involved in massive drug trafficking (Turkey's pivotal role in the international drug trade - Le Monde diplomatique - English edition

The whole ''Kurdistan/Turkey'' issue seems like a very sensitive ethnic conflict

Its allways the same with you pkk terrorist you do the shit and then say it was Turks, its not me saying pkk is doing these things, its international organisations, your pkk scums are not angels, they are cold blooded terrorists.

And now you come up with Chemical attack accusations, there are not even chemical weapons in Turkish arsenal since its forbidden and a Nato member cant storage illegal weapons.

The title of the article says: ''Shocking Images of Dead Kurdish Fighters'' but all you see its a Turkish military vehicle on the street, no evidence, no pictures, nothing.

Next time try it better, but your lie must be plausible so people would belive, or you better continue like that so people see how you pkk terrorists are doing propaganda with lies.

.
Self Deleted.

Reason: I'm not gonna post anymore in ME section, regarding PDF management's policy on Terrorism.

Mate, calm down. You started the blame game first. Going off topic even. And now you can not hold your temper when simple facts about the turkish terror state and racist military is reveleaed. Those were just very simple Google searches from neutral sources. I have more of that where it comes from. It is just 0.1% of what the terror state of turkey has done to civilian population. And actually, in many rulings the ECHR has ruled against the terror state of turkey ( Sabah English Wanna continue?

My tip for you; Calm down. Be reasonable and stop becoming angry when you started this blame game first. Handle it, or stop doing it. It is only going to backfire on you.
