The Glenn H Curtiss Museum

This Curtiss P-40N Aircraft was recovered from the Florida Everglades in 1986. It is a nearly complete wreckage, and is one of the few surviving, unrestored P-40 Warhawks left in the world.

This fighter was piloted by Earl Goodyear and involved in a mid-air collision in 1945 with another P-40 piloted by Roy Rom during a training exercise. This event resulted in a forced landing in the Florida Everglades. Both planes remained undisturbed for the next 40 years.

The recovery started in 1986, and took nearly two years. It was bought by the Curtiss Museum in 2011, and is being restored by volunteers
