The future of air warfare: Bayraktar KIZILELMA

Project will be dead in the water when/if Russians capture all of Zaporizhzhia, will have to be re-engined which will take time, especially if it was designed around the engine. Doubt Russians are going to want to have anything to do with Bayraktar company after Ukraine.

You would be correct if Turkey had not been able to produce Ukrainian engines.

However, we can manufacture the aforementioned Ukrainian engines, namely the turbofan jet-powered drone KE and the T929, a 10-ton class helicopter, as TOT without any assistance.

For this reason, after the occupation, we started to employ experienced Ukrainian engineers as "guest qualified personnel" in Antalya.

In addition, the domestic TEI TF6000 engine, which is more advanced than the Ukrainian engine, is on the way and its first ignition will be made in the first half of 2023. Based on the core of this engine, a 3000-4000 HP class helicopter engine will also be produced.

In short, whatever Russia's fate in Ukraine, the KE and T929 projects will proceed as planned.

That works. If I remember correctly,the Pakistanis tested the Chinese Z-10 and found it not suitable for them. I think it was something about the engine overheating in the Pakistani landscape or some other problem? That's how they went for the Atak.

Basically I agree with @Hakikat ve Hikmet Pakistan could have both J-10s and Kizelelma and AKINCI. I don't think their budget is so bad that they couldn't buy at least 2-5 Kizelelma.
The main problems of the Z-10 helicopter were the overheating engine and sensors. That's how I remember it. Combat vehicles mature at the front. It is impossible to do a perfect job the first time.

Even with an infantry rifle, like the MPT-76, you wouldn't believe what problems we encountered! It would be derived from an expired design (AR-10 platform), easy at first glance, right?

But technical drawings do not say anything about materials science and production details. :) Even the MPT-76 is still being improved. If you think about it for complex vehicles such as helicopters, you can perceive the process that has to go through.

That's why meticulous honest allies like Pakistan are so valuable.


Poor engine performance and sensors yes. The helo in our climate could not carry a full load at the altitudes needed. The aircraft could only carry half its max load and be able to operate at altitudes we needed it to. They were very underpowered. Many weapons come to Pakistan and fail, in Zia Ul Haq time the Abrams were rejected for engine issues and also poor accuracy. Many have come and gone... some did come back though.

Look above and you can see all of the changes, the upgrades are pretty cool. Mainly defensive. You now get MMW, better armor, better engines, better filtration system, ECM, MAWS, LWR, DIRCM, more chaff/flare launchers and thats just stuff we can see on the outside...
