The Babi or Babai (Pashtun tribe) arrived in Gujarat(from Western Pakistan) during the rule of the Mughal Empire. They held big titles in the Mughal courts and were Governors (Hakims) of the Greater Gujarat Regions. After the collapse of the Mughal Empire , the Babi remained masters of the princely states of Junagadh, Radhanpur, Balasinor, Bantva, Manavadar ,Pajod and Sardargarh etc mostly in the Kathiawar Region(Saurashtra).

In 1947 many of the states in the Kathiawar region were coerced to join the Indian Union. But the States of Junagarh and Manawader held their ground and signed the instrument of accession with Pakistan. 73 years on these forgotten lands of Pakistan still await our attention!!!

Any one who has interest in Pakistan should listen to the interview with the 11th Nawab of Junagarh residing in Karachi.

May Allah give the power to the State and people of Pakistan, to retake their rightful lands one day .Amin:pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan:

What is the status of them after the recent citizenship bill?

The Maldharis and other Sindhis are now stateless in Junagarh. Personally i miss the lion hunts

I haven't forgotten it and neither Dehli, West UP, Gurdaspur, Ferozpur, Hyderabad Deccan, Anjala, Zeera, Amritsar, Jammu and Kashmir and Kolkata. Thanks to O'Levels' Pakistan Studies and My Interest in it.

:pakistan::pakistan::pakistan:

Yes Thanks to O Levels.. i agree.. don't forget 71 Bangladesh

What are you guys on about? I had government schooling and Junagarh and Hyderabad are mentioned in the Pakistan Movement studies.

Great post. Please make it sticky mods.

Sindh shall rise again !!

The United Nations Security Council did consider Junagadh question on 18th and 26th Feb 1948. The Indian response was that even if a plebiscite was held again the result would nearly be the same. And as India had agreed to hold plebiscite in Kashmir, no further steps were taken. Junagadh issue is linked with Kashmir issue, even in the UN

Plebiscite was held in junagarh which had a majority of Hindu Population Ruled by a muslim leader.
The Muslim ruler of Hindu-majority Junagadh agreed to join to Pakistan, but later plebiscite was done which was clearly in favour of India.

Case of Junagadh was very much like kashmir
The ruler was Hindu in kashmir with a majority muslim population

and A Muslim in Junagadh with a majority Hindu Population.

May Allah give your rightful lands back one day

Sardar Patel coerced and fooled the people of Junagarh. A fraud plebiscite was held where there was massive rigging. The Nawab was not allowed to meet his people.
