does anybody know what we do with this radio active materials? do we use it ot sell it?
As I said; industrial and medical uses. Generally!
Actually they are used widely in various fields. I used californium as neutron source for thinfilm application. Not as a material of thinfilm; but detecting its faults in crystal structure. At the same time neutron sources have wide application in mining/drilling.
Every element and everty isotope has various applications. List is very long. But in medical area you have generally 2 major uses. Detection and therapy. You use their radiation to detect something or cure something. Like using a material for inner source of signal in scintigraphy. In therapy you use it as outter source like Co-60 as gamma source in radiotheraphy or inner source like radioactive iode in thyroid cancers or brachyteraphy. Californium is used in hadron theraphy in this case. Generally a good solution for inoperable tumors of soft tissue.
