There is a rather chilling part [to put it mildly] in ep5 that should be required listening for irans political leaders,if anything may lead them to reconsider irans policy on nuclear weapons and the current political and religious prohibitions against them it would be this.

There is a significant portion of the American society that is dumbed down. Watch the video below:

Yes, these are sorts of people that are voting, it's of course no surprise they would casually agree to using nuclear weapons. Iran's open policy on nuclear weapons is all smoke and mirror. Politics is all about deception and controlling perception. When you hear the likes of Zarif on camera swearing off nuclear weapons in such a categorical way, you could be forgiven for believing him, however then you realise he is openly being deceitful by claiming Iran "did not ever seek nuclear weapons". In the world we live, only a fool would not create nuclear weapons when its adversary are so out of touch and trigger happy.

The question is not whether Iran has nuclear weapons, but when it will reveal them.

I certainly hope so as I`m more convinced than ever now that iran badly needs a nuclear deterrent.

Iran parliament Strategic Action Plan: : Rehabilitation of Arak Reactor, 20% Enrichment, Suspension of Additional Protocol

Good to see the new parlement has some balls...reversing the trend of getting pushed by the west into negotiation ...now iran will gradually advance the nuclear capabilities as they like and watch the west running after them to stop.....good plan 👌

No it first must approved in parliament . for that it must pass a lot of specialist comitee and then it must put to vote. Then it must get approved by guardian councill .
It will take time.

Sounds like it has to go through a long process. But if all members from the committee, parliament and council agree to it, how long does it take roughly for a decision as such to take effect?

The very big danger here is still rouhani, and the very real possibility [probability?] that he might very well be willing to give the new biden regime everything that he would not give the chump regime,ie a "better" deal, just so that he can have one last shot at resurrecting both the jcpoa and his political reputation......no matter what the cost to iran.
Theres nothing more dangerous than a lame duck president right at the end of his political term....

Iran Vows to Take 'Any Opportunity' to Lift US Sanctions

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani vowed Wednesday to take "any opportunity" to lift US sanctions against Tehran, following President Donald Trump's defeat by Democratic election rival Joe Biden.

While the outgoing Trump has declared Iran an arch-foe and sought to isolate it globally, president-elect Biden has proposed to offer Iran a "credible path back to diplomacy".

"Our aim is to lift the pressure of sanctions from the shoulders of our people," Rouhani said in televised remarks during a weekly cabinet meeting.

"Wherever this favourable opportunity arises we will act on our responsibilities. No one should miss any opportunity."

"National security and national interests are not factional and partisan issues," Rouhani added, after conservatives blasted his reformist and moderate coalition for its "over-excitement" for re-engagement with the United States.

Decades-old tensions between Tehran and Washington escalated after Trump unilaterally withdrew the US from a landmark Iran nuclear deal in 2018 and reimposed, then reinforced, crippling sanctions.

Those moves torpedoed the deal, Rouhani's signature foreign policy achievement, and bolstered conservatives who argue that the US cannot be trusted.

The measures have all but deprived Iran of vital oil revenues and isolated its banks, triggering a harsh recession and slashing the value of the rial. Rouhani acknowledged Biden's conciliatory remarks during his campaign but said Tehran was prepared for sanctions to remain in place.

"They can choose a new path. And if they do not want to, it is their choice," he told the cabinet.

He noted that his administration had devised its policies on the assumption Trump would stay in office.

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said last week that the result of the US election would have "no effect" on Tehran's policies towards Washington.

I had no idea that most of the major akhoonds were so supportive of the jcpoa. I distinctly remember IRGC and SL being against it and I assumed the akhoonds would also be opposed or at least suspicious of the deal, but it seems they were very happy about it.

though I should have created this thread months ago, yet as we Persian say, whenever you catch the fish, it's still fresh.

Almost nothing

Almost nothing. this was the answer of Iran's central bank chief about the benefits of the deal (JCPOA) for Iran.
the comment which was boycotted by all reformists and Pro-Rohani medias.

It was just a few weeks earlier that Rohani's team showed bunch of monitors to reporters and claimed that swift system is functioning, and called anybody who speaks the otherwise as ignorant, extremist, etc.
yet yesterday Iran's central bank chief broke the silence and talked about the real world and how Americans ignored their commitments.

read it here:
US Failed to Comply with JCPOA Commitments, CBI Chief Says

to make it simple, after the deal, we have been sanctioned several times through other excuses, our money hasn't been released, our banks can't have transactions with foreign banks and we can't buy or sell anything unless through barter. we can't launch our missiles or space rockets without receiving more sanctions. everything is like before the deal. before destroying our nuclear infrastructure and filling our nuclear reactor with concrete and firing our scientists.

it's not a surprise though, Americans did it in the previous deal too, when Rohani himself was the negotiator. when he accepted to shut down all of our nuclear activities in return of The first nothing.

One may ask why he was fooled again? and how? if we got nothing, why Rohani doesn't announce the failure then? was he really fooled? if this deal is a failure then why some people want to make another deal, this time about our missiles? the People which our supreme leader called traitor! (it's thread was deleted, not by me though!)
I will post about the deal and these issues in this thread hereafter.

the jcpoa was very bad for Irans economy (even i think the main problem is from inside Iran). the goverment (rouhani & co.) was sure that all sacntions will be lifted and didn't got ready for the scenario we have now. and another problem was they never thought trump would cancel the deal, cause they oversestimatet the eurpoeans. the goverment was thinkig trump can't cancel the deal cause europe is part of it but they should know better. after trump came out from the deal Iran still relied on europe and was sure europe will fullfill the commitment tehy promised. but europe only bought time nothing more. (i still don't know how the goverment with all the ministers and all the knowledge they have, didn't saw what was obvious to the world).

but with all this problems we faced my personal opinion is that the jcpoa was a blessing, cause this agreement splitted the Iranian ruling elite in 2 and now we know who is with Iran and who was acting for 40years being with Iran. for 40years it wasn't that clear like it is today. we had to pay a high price but it was worth, cause this people who poisend Irans politics from inside and where curropt all this years showed their face.

Very accurate assessment indeed.
You wonder how such educated crowed in the ianian side actually signed such a contract where one side has to give up (destroy or alter) actual tangible items in advance while the other side actions are limited to doing a signature on a paper....but in anyways it is all water under the bridge now....may be this becomes a text book example of how not to do a contract for future iranian leaders.
